Shortly after getting engaged, I did a bunch of stuff... now, I just look.

Hopefully I gain another punch of motivation to actually do stuff.

Who am I kidding though? With this forum, I don't think I will ever run out of things to research/consider/plan for. It's addictive! lol

I was unable to start planning right after getting engaged, as I was ill at the time - but it seems now that I am feeling better, I feel like I missed out on so much time to be excited about getting married/planning/etc. I think I'm making up for lost time right now, but now that I have the travel/hotel/wedding package/photographer booked - I can take a little break :)

I'm sure you'll get another surge of motivation closer to the date! Happy planning!

My planning is going slowly, but going.  Next week we are addressing our Save the Dates.  I like that we are just taking our time since we have soooo much time.  People keep asking us about colors, but we are taking our time (plus I change my mind every week).  The only thing I need to stop dragging my feet on is bridesmaids.  My FI has picked his groomsmen, but I have been apprehensive to name my 3 top ladies (we decided 3 persons max on each side - I actually wanted only 1 but my FI has 3 best friends) since I have 5 great ladies plus 2 top men in my life.  How do you choose?  Gosh, this is the worst for me.

How is the planning going??

Do you really want an even number? We aren't going to.

I would have been okay with one on each side, but I decided to have a moh and one bm... (my moh will only be 17 at the time). FI is only having one buy stand up with him. So maybe, if it is easier to only ask one, then do that.

Otherwise, maybe try to find something else for the other important people to do... Like a reading, or something like that?

Good luck!

I still have not asked people to stand up either. My problem is this, my best friend is in the process of trying to have a baby, if she is 9 months pregnant next January she obvioulsy will not be going. I do not want any of my other friends that are able to go to feel like a "backup" plan you know? So I have been dragging my feet on this...I think it is hard to chose as well. Chosing is the worst. But if you orginally wanted 1 and your FI wanted 3, tell him to add on 2 more men. That way you have 5 ladies and your two men are groomsmen. :-)

I like the one on each side idea. That can get difficult too but it easier to explain just one, then having 3 and leaving out 2. Good point!

Congratulations everyone!! I'm hoping to have an April 2013 wedding =) We will be going down to Mexico to check some resorts out and hopefully make a decision. It's so hard to choose where to have it, I think it will easy once we are there. Have you all gone down to the resort, or did you book it blindly & have faith in your advisors/planners/FI? Good luck to you all in planning!!

This is sad, but this is also real life. And I have seen a forum such as this, help support people in like situations. I hope we can help you through this whole process as well.  I will keep you and your family in my prayers. ((hugs))

Thanks for sending prayers and thoughts our way. I just looked at my post, my FI has been battling cancer since 2011 not 2012. We find out on Friday the pathology of the tumor and the treatment plan. Hopefully we will receive some good news finally. Katie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
