I'm hoping to have my hair done at the Colonial. My bridesmaids were interested as well, but for nearly $90 US that is crazy expensive. I can get my wedding hair done in Canada at some top salons for less than that :(

Very disappointed with the price. Hope the quality of my hair style makes up for it.

Same here!! I couldn't believe the prices they are charging for hairstyles... thanksfully My resort is like 2 minutes from their plazas, I was able to meet with the owner of one of the hair salons outside of the resort and she is doing our hairstyles for $25...which is pretty awesome I brought her pics and got to see their work.. u should look into exploring outside of your resort as an option.

I am using Spa-Med Punta Cana Palmarosa.  I have been communicating with Carole there.  She has been very prompt.  $60 for bride hair and %25 for bridesmaids.  I am going to her the day before the wedding for a trial, and day of the wedding she will be coming to my resort and doing our hair there.  I originally wanted my hair half up, but I'm worried about how it will hold up with the weather, so I am trying to find an up do that I love just incase my hair does not cooperate!

Make sure your resort won't charge you a day pass for the stylist to come do your hair, my resort tried saying that to me which was ridiculous $95 I said no thanks I will go to them.

Miss Sunshyne, would you mind telling me which outside vendor you are using to come and do your makeup? I am really nervous about this and I wanted a 'professional' to do my makeup and not have to just take lessons. I would really appreciate it. I'm getting married in less than a month.

Hi Ladies

I was married at the Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana on April 18th. I can tell you that I didn't love my hair (had to tweak it - I asked for a side, low messy chignon and I got 80's prom spiral curals) and I HATED HATED HATED my makeup that the spa / salon did for me. BUT I was prepared. I went to MAC and took a picture of what I liked with me and had one of their artists show me how, I bought all the products. As soon as I got back to my room after my makeup was done on my wedding day, I washed my face and just did it again. It didn't take long.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you come prepared....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
