However, they never said the part about 'in sickness and in health, better or worse, etc...' the ceremony was so short. Literally like 8 minutes long. Idk if that is because it rained, ok more like monsooned on my day and we had to wait 2 hours before the ceremony could take place. LOL

Hi Ladies, I got married at Dreams in June of 2011. The resort is truly amazing!! It rained most of the time that we were there and rained on my day, so I was really bummed since it put a huge damper on my plans. However, the wedding coordinators and the rest of the staff worked wonders and it turned out wonderful!! The resort could not do enough for you! Pablo Picasso was awesome!! The grounds at the resort are truly spectacular! With the flamingos and all the different restaurants and theme nights! We had about 40 people attend our wedding from the United States and Canada. I was concerned about hair and makeup so I got an outside woman from La Vega to come and do my hair and makeup! She did a great job!

Dressa your pictures came out beautiful!! You looked stunning. We are leaving in 8 days and getting married in 13 and I have sooo many questions!! -Did you just have the band at the reception at the SSG or did you do a DJ as well? Also, did you do first dances on the deck at the SSG and how was it, if so? -Did the resort do your hair and makeup? -Was your room in building 4 the preferred section and did you notice a difference? -Did you do a cocktail hour at all and where did you have it? -Did you ask the tables to be set up in the square formation? We are thinking of that also, or round tables. But we also wanted a sweetheart table for ourselves, and i don't know how to do that with round. -Did you rent out the whole SSG or was it just sectioned off for you and your guests? -Do they tell you when you arrive what day you will be meeting with the wedding coordinator to go over everything? Any other advise you can give us upcoming brides? Sorry for all the questions, seeing your photos got me so excited! It will be here sooo soon! Thanks love! -Krystal

Amurka- OMG i'm so stressed! hehe. My fiance is Canadian and I'm American and we're living in Canada trying to plan a wedding in another country with family in two countries, is HARD! But i've got all my decorations all ready and set to go. I have my wedding gown and now it's just little last minute things left to do. I'm soooo excited! We leave on June 1st. We are at dreams from the 1-11th then leave the DR and head to St. Lucia for 9 days to honeymoon! I am beyond ecstatic! I can't get over how fast time has flown bye! Everday I keep waiting for others reviews, just to calm some nerves. Wish Dana had gotten time to post one. Can't wait to see Emma's! I know that everyone's wedding is going to be just beautiful! Miss Sunshyne, would you mind telling me which outside vendor you are using to come and do your makeup? I am really nervous about this and I wanted a 'professional' to do my makeup and not have to just take lessons. I would really appreciate it. I'm getting married in less than a month.

Congrats Dana!! I can't wait to hear your review and see pictures!! So I haven't been on in a little while ladies and I have a few questions that maybe you can help answer. I am bringing down a lot of my own decorations for the gazebo. I can get them A LOT cheaper than what the resort is charging. My question is, what size width do you think I need for the tulle in the Gazebo. I found a great website that has the colore tulle that I am looking for but the width sizes come in 18inches, 27inches, etc...What do you think I should get? Also, I am sooo nervous about the spa now with other peopls reviews. I have looked up outside hair and makeup professionals in the area and have only found one. He is a professional MAC makeup artist and is available on my day. But he will only come if I have 5 other girls to get their hair and make up and womp, womp... I am not having a bridal party other than my sister (matron of honor)... Perhaps, any other brides getting married on June 6th as well and want to split him!?!? A girl can hope, right? hehe I still have so many questions and have not heard back from Jenny! We are a month and a half a way and i'm really starting to stress. I can't wait to hear Dana's review, to calm my nerves a bit! xoxo

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of a professional hair and make up artist (other than the resort) who come to on site weddings? Also, preferably someone who does airbrush make up? Thanks!

Lisa, you looke stunning! Congrats! So I am nervous about my hair and makeup now. I can do my own makeup and probably figure out my own hair, but I kind of wanted to be pampered and get a professional do it the day of my wedding. So it was absoultely terrible? What are you ladies discussing in regards to menu's. They changed the gold and silver menus? I have yet to pick anything from there for my SSG reception. Also, what was that kite latern that I saw in your reception? Did you bring that down? I am so excited, yet so nervous. We have two months to go and still so many questions. My dress isn't even in yet. ahh! But the resort does look beautiful. Also, what block was your room in? Thanks!!

Hi ladies, I am getting married at the Dreams La Romana resort on June 6th, 2011. I'm a bit confused as to pricing for the reception. We are having over 20 guests and my understanding is that I have to pay for anyone over 20 peoples drinks and food for the reception. This doesn't make sense to me since everyone has already paid for food and drink (all inclusive). Why would I pay for my guests to get drinks if they could get up and walk to another bar and get a all inclusive drink? Has anyone else wondered this? Do you have any advice. We def want a private function, but what other options are there? If anyone has any advice or suggestions for what they are doing or have done that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any pictures of their ceremony on the beach or pier and reception. I would LOVE to see them! Thanks in advance! -Anxious Bride to be
