Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

They are just ok, see my profile for the pictures the photographer took.  I am an ametuer photographer myself, so these pics are not up to snuff, I would have preferred to have Tropical Imaging as my photographer, but my husband was not willing to leave the resort to go for photos, and I still would have had to use Beaches photographer for the ceremony anyway.

They should just stay at the resort, and someone should just stay behind to watchtthe kiddies the day/night of the wedding....Beaches also does offer babysitting services...

I have been very actively watching this thread, taking lots of notes...but now I have a question...

My fiance has a very large family...we have only invited adults to the wedding in Turks...but now all the Aunts and Uncles have gone behind our backs started booking, and looking into the vacations with children included. So, ok, we can't do anything about that, and we explained that it's an adults only wedding and reception and the kids will be invited to the AHR. Wellllll now a bunch of the family, actually majority, are looking into a house to rent off the Beaches resort....So now I have a new stress.....the day passes.

Everywhere that I'm reading says that off site guests to Beaches need a day pass. We are doing the private wedding reception and dinner, so it says there is a negotiated rate of $150/pp including their plate at the reception...so have any of you brides had to pay this guest pass? Did YOU pay for it?? OR did you expect the guest that didn't stay on property to pay the 1/2 of the pass since it's normally $75/pp for the private reception? I'm so confused, and got really upset on the 4th of July because it was brought up then....Because I got so upset about it (tears, not screaming lol) the family said they would just stay on property if it was going to be an issue. This will make a huge difference in budget....and also the other factor of the kids in our family on the Beaches resort when we were hoping not to have to worry about them...(our honeymoon is for the full week after the wedding and we are staying at Beaches...the family members are all staying as well).....

So I guess this question is just wondering what has happened with these guest passes in the past for brides...who paid for them, etc....

Thank you for any input!!!

You can get married on the beach...that boardwalk area is more for the reception. Your other options for the ceremony are the gazebos. If you get married on the beach though and are having the BB theme, no stucturetobe married under or chairs are included, just an FYI.

You looked beautiful in your pictures.  I loved the pics of the kids and you and your hubby drawing hearts in the sand,  Very cute.

Which photographer took your pictures?  I know you said the pics were just ok.  I have heard that Patrick Grant is the best Beaches photographer and people have requested his as thier photographer.  I sent him a message on FB asking if we can request him for our wedding.  He also has his own photography FB page too,   While we will be using TI for the majority of our pics, we still want decent ones for the ceremony.  cheesy.gif

I can understand your frustration with this.  I was married once before and I did not want any children at my reception (and it was not a DW) and I got negative comments about that.  I think it is very difficult to have your wedding at a family resort and not want kids at your wedding.  It's a long way for people to travel, and at least several days vacation for them, so I can also understand them wanting to bring their kids along.  Probably would have been easier for you if it was an adults only resort.

Maybe you can suggest the resorts babysitting services "so the adults can have a night to enjoy themselves" wink.gif

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
