Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the great review Misti!  Very helpful.  Unfortuately, me and most of my guests are flying AA so I will definitely be carrying on as many essentials as possible.  I'm so sorry to hear about your luggage but glad you had a great time anyway.  You looked beautiful!

Misti - congrats - you looked beautiful! So sorry to hear about your luggage - that's one of my biggest worries, but I'm glad to hear that you made it through despite the setback! Our plans are coming along nicely. Resort and flight booked, dress bought, planning session with Monica in a few days. We have 10 guests booked plus ourselves and our daughters. Probably expecting another 20 or so to book. I did speak briefly with Monica the other day. She kinda gave me the runaround as far as the upgrade menu. Basically, we want to start with the BB package and add the ss arch, shell lined "aisle" and centerpieces. We may want to upgrade some other things, based on price, so I asked her to send me a list of prices per upgrade. Her response was that there really is no such menu. Really? Then where do they get these prices from? She says she can price me based on what we discuss during our planning session, but how can she price me if there is no menu?! I'll let everyone know how it works out! Kelly and Wilson Jan 21,2012

Hey ! What days are you staying at the resort?? We fly in on the 18th and leave on the 28th! 10 days yipee!!! Do you have a TA? I do, and we havent even begun to discuss any details, nor do i think i will have to talk to Monica directly, i believe they will do that for me. I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, with all the price changes and all. I actually had asked my TA for the updated kit a few weeks ago, and she didnt even know there was a new one. I think EVERYONE is confused by all this. Thank goodness i have you girls, I actually did get the 4pm time slot that day, what about you? Also, are you doing a reception? If so, what are your plans regarding that? Keep me posted!!!

Thanks for the great review, Misti!!  Your pics are beautiful!!  Sorry to hear about the luggage issue.  I have flown AA twice, one of those being to the Caribbean, and have never had a problem w/ my luggage.  But, I will definitely be packing all of the necessities in my carry-on bag!!

Lizz, We are going from 1/17-1/24. The ceremony is at 3. We are planning either the 2 hr buffet or 3 hr plated dinner, depending on how much flexibility we have w the plated options. I'm leaning toward the buffet just so people have more choices. What about you guys? We are using a TA, but we are also talking to the people ourselves because we want to have thebb package with upgrades, so I feel that it might (&i stress the word might) be more clear for us if we speak to people directly. I'll keep you posted on what Monica has to say

Thats what i am wondering...is beter to talk to Monica directly, or go through the TA? Will there prices match up? Who knows!!! We are also leaning towards the 2 or 3 hour reception on the boardwalk area, depends on how big the group is...I have seen the menu options when comparing buffett to plated, and i thin we might go plated, but i have to have some options there as my Dads wife is allergic to shellfish, and i dont wanna have to pick what someone eats. I have heard if you have over a certain amount of peole they will let your guests have a choice of meal, so we will see. I am not gonna start going nuts over this stuff untili get a REAL idea of our guest count. How many people are in your group, and where are you planning on having your reception at?

Just found out that 4 more have booked! We have 8 adults (besides us) and 9 kids already booked and have 6 more definate adults with 2 kids to book. We are assuming that we will have a few more bookings once we send out formal stds. How many ppl r u expecting? What's the "certain amount of people? "that would allow you to have them choose their own meal? I don't want to have to puck for anyone either! Also kids are half price K

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
