Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Thank you! I want to make sure I budget well for every little thing like that. I am doing my own makeup, but need to have my hair done.

For the trial it was $45 each for the make up and hair and for the day of the wedding it was $90 for the hair and $75 for the make up. Both my hair and make up lasted all day and night.

I originally was going to do the bridal bliss package but it just doesn't make sense for me since my nails and toes will already be done and I want to save money by doing my own makeup. Thank you so much for suggesting it though :)

Jill I just saw your TI pictures and they are stunning! Beautiful. I can't wait to do it myself. So excited. Beach bride 0519 - As for the hair and makeup, the bridal bliss package is $280, and it includes all the items Jill listed plus mani/pedi. Not sure if you want that also. If you don't want the mani/pedi than paying separately is probably the way to go.

I have a question for all the brides! I am having troubles trying to figure out what I am going to do with my silk flowers I am bringing with to the resort! How did you pack yours? Or did you ship yours to the resort? I have 5 bouquets and the boutonnieres.

DO NOT SHIP THEM!!!  Anything coming onto the island is subject to shipping fees AND 35% + customs duty of the purchase price (yes that is thirty five percent or more).  You have to supply a purchase invoice and have someone to clear them for you which adds an additional 10% to the shipment.   You will look at at least paying total of 45-55% of the price of your shipment or more and if you don't know the way around getting things cleared, it could be a huge headache as well as costly and you may not get them in time depending on who you ship with.   If you live near your bridal party, I would suggest having them bring their flowers down (if you trust them LOL).   But as a 17 year resident here, don't even think about shipping them (unless you have an unlimited budget. )

I was actually told i could not ship anything unless i was there to receive my package, which i def do not want to risk that. I think I am just going to carry my flowers on with me.

Hi Ladies,

It has been a long time since I have been on, I started nursing school the end of Jan. so I have been loosing my mind with that experience. Lizzdee thank you for the review of your experience, I have a few people that could not get anything but the French Village so I will have to warn them that they are further out. I guess I can say thank goodness the one person that would be the biggest critic of the facilities is no longer coming. My question for you ladies is where did you get your FI/ husbands clothing. I know we are going to go with linen pants and shirt just not sure where to order from. If you ladies could help with ideas I would be grateful. Thank you,

Cherie

Hello Ladies,

I am new to the site I have been reading the posts for the last two days I am currently on page 68.  The pages are so very informative I am so appreciative of you ladies for sharing your private stories.  They are really helping me.  I have yet to finalize any plans or even have a set date.  Beaches Turks and Caicos is one of my top choices and you ladies are helping to make this decision.  All of your reviews are excellent as well as your photos.  Is the thread still open are there any new brides for BTC?  I see majority so far are for 2011 some 2012.  Are there any 2013?  If so how did you start your planning? How many of you ladies have used or will use a TA?  If so are you using from this site or from elsewhere?

Sabrina

Cherie, we had originally purchased linen pants and a linen shirts from J Crew outlet, but then decided they didn't look "crisp" enough, so we ordered new ones from Island Importers.  A little pricier, but much better quality.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
