Hi Girls! Ugh seems like Susana has disappeared off the face of the earth for the last week or so. I'm interested in the chill out roof top bar and asked her to send me some additional pictures and prices. Nothing yet. I'm half tempted to fly down there before my site visit.

JG, Susana responded to you?  Grrr...she still haven't gotten back to me yet.

Did anyone get some sort of email response or anything after you sent the wire transfer down?  I just need to know the money made it there ok, and that we're booked for Bar Higuey.

During our site visit I begged and pleaded for them to allow us to let Sky Lanterns and she totally shut me down. Something about a fire hazard. Totally sucks its the one thing I really, really wanted. I have not heard from Susana either, grrr. I am waiting for clarification on the $488 DJ cost considering she confirmed it included a mic and equipment already. I want to know what the difference between my DJ package of $488 and yours of over $700...is it just fireworks?

  • Just to be sure we added the DJ service to our invoice for the reception. The DJ comes with all the equipment including a mic, correct? Thatâ€s correct.

Hi ladies,

I believe Marlene sent us an email confirming they had received our wire deposit.  I would definitely hound them for that if you are concerned.

We also paid $488 for the DJ and Marlene told us that included all of his equipment and a mic, which we had.  She said that doesn't include an "MC", basically meaning he is not going to do any announcements or "run the show" for you.  We had one of the groomsmen do that for us and it worked out really well.

I don't think we had any lights included which was also fine.  I think that allowed our photographer to take these really cool pics:

Yes, that's me wearing my husband's tie :)

I would definitely see what they mean about fireworks because if you are having your reception at Bar Higuey, I don't think there is anywhere immediately adjacent to it that they could do fireworks - I assume they'd set them off at the beach and you might be able to see them from BH?  They'd have to be pretty huge - there are a lot of trees and greenery around BH.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
