UH-OH, my guests are not behaving!

Jackie I agree with what Rebecca and the other girls said. I'm sure if you explain to them that they will have a fee for other days if they want to come and hang out, then they will book at Dreams. Also mention to them that Cabo is a pricey city and places such as the One & Only (who cares if its one of the most expensive places, they won't necessarily know that) charges like $35 for a margarita. Once you explain to them that all their food, room service, and alcohol is included I think they will see things differently.

I know we had people inquire about different non AI resorts as well. And J's dad is staying at another hotel. We advised him that the hotel is charging us an $80 fee for every guest who is not stayin at our hotel and if he decided to stay somewhere else he would be paying the $80 day pass fee.

I feel horrible making him pay it but we already have expenses that we are taking care of for our guests (champagne, appetizers, etc) and as long as we're upfront about it they know what theyre getting into. DO I sound harsh?

No you dont sound harsh, as long as you arent preasuring anyone to go either. If you absolutly insist that they go and they say that they would rather stay somewhere else than maybe I would feel different. But if you just invited them to your wedding with no preasure than I dont feel its that big a deal if you request that they pay if they dont stay at the resort your getting married at.

Thanks Kash, if it comes down to weather or not they can go at least I can lead them in the right direction.

we aren't even going to mention the option of staying at another resort. If anyone brings it up we will politely make it clear that they will be responsible for purchasing a day pass. I think they are about $100 at our resort so that could add up really quickly. And I agree that in the end it's really not going to save the guests any money, especially if its a family since they will each have to have a day pass...

good point good point. I think we MIGHT do a website sometime before we send out the formal invites and that way it will be easier to express all of this to people. And than after that we will have to just take it as it comes.

I think this is the right response for you - even if it's inside your head!

Just give people the info if they ask and if you're not paying for passes the day of the wedding let them know that too. And people may actually prefer to pay the day pass.

This may sound crazy but I would be one of those people that would probably want to stay somewhere else. I don't eat meat and I have a lot of difficulties at buffet style dining. That being said, I may not buy a day pass to come EVERY day but I would definitely consider coming on at least one non-wedding day.

Also, and I know this is totes illegal - but you know the beach is public property - if people need to stay elsewhere for budget reasons you may be a able to sneak a few onto the grounds for the just hanging out days (probs not the wedding though).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
