My dress came in, and it's too small!

Recommended Posts

Thanks ladies!! I'm going to call the store tomorrow to see what they can do. But when I ordered it I signed a paper saying that I reviewed the measurments and was ok with the size they were ordering. Which I did, I was between a size 0 and a 4 so we went with the 4 so it could be taken in instead of being let out. So because of this paper I signed I'm not sure if they'll even order me a new dress. But what I didn't do while I was there was check the actual size on the dress. Maybe it was the wrong size?? Guess I have to wait till tomorrow to find out... sad.gif

is it possible you tried on a 6, but the dresses run small so it felt like a 4, which matched your measurements so thats what you ordered?

either way i still say the shop needs to fix it.

Even though you did sign a slip stating that was your measurements, it doesn't mean that the dress is those measurements. I'd start there and see if the dress is actually cut right. Mistakes happen and someone could have made it wrong or as Abbie said- mislabeled it. Don't panic though. You have plenty of time to work everything out before your wedding so don't let this snafu stress you too much!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear you are going through this! I agree with everyone else the store needs to fix this. Even if you signed a piece of paper, come on your are far enough away that they can order another dress. And what is with the woman telling you that you need to lose weight?!?! Some one should report her to a supervisor! Like seriously....WTH?!?! I hope everything goes well tomorrow. Definitely check the size and keep us posted! Good luck!

You look stunning in the dress and it zips up, it's at least that! Try sitting down though, usually it will feel even tighter then. Did they order it in the wrong size for you? If so then they should definitively take the blame for it! Regardless though, they're crazy if they think that loosing a dress size is easy! Good luck! Looks like you still have plenty of time though to get this resolved before your wedding day!

Your dress looks beautiful on you! It really doesn't look too small at all in the pictures but of course you need to be able to breathe and feel comfortable in it. Make sure they ordered the right size of course like everyone has mentioned, and if not make them re-order the dress, hopefully they can let it out though because you don't need to lose any weight.

The dress is gorgeous and looks great on you. I agree with all of the ladies that the dress does not look small at all. However, if it feels tight and you're not comfortable in it, I'd say get it exchanged and/or fixed. Either way, the shop has to help you out, You're spending lots of money, not $2 bucks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
