Gran Caribe Real 2011 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Shay,

Thanks for your reply! You're website looks beautiful! This is the one my fiance and I have been working on..

As for OOT bags, I've googled it and people don't suggest having it shipped to the resort. Others have just packed it with them and asked family & friends to pack some stuff as well. I might do the same and possibly buy additional items in Cancun at their malls. There's 2 mall near Gran Caribe. One is down the street but the bigger one is about a 5-10minute drive from Gran Caribe. They have nice stores there so I'd have to think about that option.

I didn't think of the option of just giving OOT bags and not giving favors at the wedding. Are other brides doing the same? The cost just continues to pile up so I might do that as well. Do you think guests will notice/complain if there's no favors at the actual wedding ceremony?

Thanks again ladies.

Hi KernsWR, totally agree with you and the costs piling up...my wedding is coming up in August and I plan to give out OOT bags and I had a really hard time deciding what to give during the reception ,..so instead of giving something that is going to end up in the kitchen drawer, I am going to just provide treats like mints and candy etc in favor boxes...hope it helps you decide!

For the OOT bags I'm doing the usual meds, playing cards...etc but I also did a personalized water bottle...they were cheaper than travel mugs!

Thank you!!!! That's actually from the resort florist!!! I also used Marvin from Mayan Design and ordered a bouquet from him with the same exact flowers, BUT the resort bouquet was WAYYY more beautiful!!!! I absolutely loved it....it was huge!! and the flowers were still amazing the next day and the day after!!

OMG Congratulations!!!! Ever since I saw your DIY passport invitations, I knew your wedding would be as gorgeous as you! I've contacted Marvin from MayanFlorals. Did you have to meet with him outside the resort? I was told we couldn't exchange anything on the resort property. And I love the maracas. Were they from orientaltrading.com? I thought of them too as wedding favors and the starfish as seating cards! Were the starfish all one color and where did you get them? Did you do your menu and tags yourself? And did you have someone from your wedding party set it up for you as well as the ribbons on the pew?

My WC told me that whatever I bring with me (chair sashes, centerpieces, decorations, favors, seating cards) the resort isnt responsible for them so I have to get someone from the wedding party to set it all up. *sigh* Another stress I have for the wedding. I hope I feel the same way you did about yours. Bc frankly I'm tired planning. lol. Thanks for the posts and congrats again!

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the helpful information on this thread!  I just booked our wedding for 4/21/12 and we will have our ceremony in the Gazebo and our reception in one of the ballrooms.  We will do a site visit sometime this fall.  So excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
