Paradisus Palma Real...Really Worried!

Recommended Posts

Oh wow, I know exactly how you girls are feeling. I am dying for my wedding at PPR to come but all these feedbacks are really scaring me. I am getting married there next April, and at this point Noelia doesnâ€t even bother answering my questions. I guess because they are very busy with their current weddings but I still think I deserve a call/short-email back. They should hire a team of expert to just deal with future weddings! Hello...new business.

I hope things get better there and we all get our answers straight.

I know it can get annoying not receiving answers right away but I can imagine with multiple weddings a day and prob only 3 or so WCs it can get hectic. Give them time. Ive waited even 30 days for a response, but that's why I like to gather all my questions and send them a long email asking everything that I need to know now. Whatever can wait til I get there I don't even worry about. Give it time, if for some reason they don't write back soon then send them another email listing all your questions again. It is possible that they might have missed it.

PM me your email. I have photos of Gabi to send you.

Also for the ladies that are having weddings next year Im sure that is why they are not giving your emails priority. If I were you guys I would request a coordinator thats outside of the resort like I had. My questions at most would take 1 week to be answered and sometimes I would get an answer the same day.

Then we had to get approval from someone higher up. STRESSFUL!

I recently sent them an email requesting a design layout map of the gabi restarant as well as the color schemes so I can begin picking wedding colors and such and they have been unhelpful. They sent me a map of the entire hotel instead of the room lay out! WHAT IS THAT GOINT TO DO FOR ME? And sent me no information on the color schemes of the room.

I could go on forever!! I am interested in hearing your experiences w/ the Palma Real!! Are you all going bananas or am I alone here?!

Hey ladies! I am getting married at PPR on November 27, 2010. I have been dealing with Noelia but since we paid the deposit and signed the contract, I haven't had much contact with her. I basically harassed her for weeks prior to booking because I wanted to know exactly what was going on before I booked a date. My recommendation would be to sit down and write up a list of questions like Luciel suggested. I basically started my questions with arriving to the resort and broke it down in sections like room upgrades, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception etc. As I get closer to my date, I'm sure I'll have more to fill you all in on. If you get all the "red tape" cleared up before you book, you should feel at ease and be able to concentrate on the fun stuff! I am in the process of getting together my OOT bags which has been really fun. Anyone that gets new info, please share!!

Hey ladies!

I'm thinking about having my wedding at PPR in Nov 2011.  How many guests are you expecting?  And how much were you able to negotiate the room rates to for your guests?

We have a certain limit in mind and I'm curious to see if we'll be able to get there negotiating with PPR. Any advice would be great!

Thanks!

Okay Ladies,

I was just down in PPR checking out the scene for my wedding in July 2011 (16th). Let me tell you what a freakin hassle with everything... they give you NOTHING!!! and when I mean nothing, I mean NOTHING!!! They tack on every price and add on known to man... if you don't mind me asking, for the people who are having weddings over 75 people (MINE IS over 100) what price did they quote you for rooms... lets see how consistent they really are....

Has anyone been down there to see the place??? Or are you guys just going based on reviews and pictures??

Anna, I would like to talk more with you being that you ahve 120+ guests, which is very simliar to mine.... My e-mail is [email protected]. I have a lot to say about BOTH paradisus's but the PPR is way better than the PPC.

FYI--- the maid stole $200 from my room, left me $40 in my wallet though... HOW NICE.. right???

I'm REALLY curious about what they quote you both.  We're expecting about 150+ guests at our wedding.  We haven't decided on PPR yet, but we LOVE the pictures... we're also doing an Indian wedding, so we're not expecting PPR to provide us with anything we'll need...

Please let me know what they quote you for rooms... thanks!

Hi there... its been a while since I posted last.  I have my "power planning" call with Lauren next week.  I just wanted to get some thoughts from you guys on things to ask and I can ask her and then let you know what she says... particularly in the area of pricing.  I just did a quick calc, and it looks like it is going to cost me something like $170+ per guest at my wedding.  This is the $70 fee for the Aqua package which comes with a cocktail hr and dinner, plus the $16/person/hour for open bar + tax, plus favors and whatnot.  Does anyone know if there are any bar options other than $16/person/hour?  That is just ridiculous.  Did anyone else book based on the 2010 pricing?  I'm curious.  I was considering my reception location at the Olympus Terrace... it looks like it right next to the pool and it says on the PPR website that there are 2 pool bars.  I'm thinking that guests can possibly use these bars as an option since its all inclusive and SHOULD BE FREE.  Past brides, let me know how you handled this, future brides, let me know if you've discussed this with your contacts at all.  Thanks!

OMG! I just learned from my travel agent that Noelia, the wedding coordinator I was working with for my wedding, is no longer there!   PPR couldn't send me an email to let me know this new.  I am not a happy camper right now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
