Paradisus Palma Real...Really Worried!

Recommended Posts

So, I booked my June 2011 Wedding at the Paradisus Palma Real and frankly, I am scared! It seems the "romance team" is all over the place. They are not consistant with what they say. After paying my deposit for the Gabi Beach, Terrace & Restarant(120+guest) I was told they couldn't honor the price **RED FLAG ON THE PLAY** I had to go back through tons of emails and resend them the whole brake down of what they quoted. Then we had to get approval from someone higher up. STRESSFUL!

I recently sent them an email requesting a design layout map of the gabi restarant as well as the color schemes so I can begin picking wedding colors and such and they have been unhelpful. They sent me a map of the entire hotel instead of the room lay out! WHAT IS THAT GOINT TO DO FOR ME? And sent me no information on the color schemes of the room.

I could go on forever!! I am interested in hearing your experiences w/ the Palma Real!! Are you all going bananas or am I alone here?!

Hey Anna! I'm getting married at the PPR in 2 months...it's been a bit difficult planning from a distance via email. I honestly think a lot of it boils down to a language barrier as well as the volume of weddings they are handling at a given time.

I'm not sure where you are having your reception exactly. Is it at the Gabi Terrace or the Gabi Beach Club restaurant? I definitely don't think they should have named the two locations so closely due to the amount of confusion. Either way I'm pretty sure the colors are more earthtone with gold accents.

I definitely recommend communicating with the hotel through one email so all of your information and quotes are easy to find. It's unfortunate but the prices do change each year. As far as I know, you pay the prices advertised for the year you book. You have to stay vigilant and keep being vocal. What was their reason for changing your price??

I hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

I agree. Im waiting on the final rates to post on this resort next week/charters.etc So I have a tentative wedding date of 1/11/2011 and want to do it at paradisus pr. I have a call with a wedding coordinator on monday to answer all my questions b/c I have been tossed around a bit.

She is based out of CANADA? WHAT? Weird! Why am I talking to someone out of Cananda about the wedding info. I have many quesitons too on the terrace vs. the gabi club. My number 1 reception location is the gabi restaurant club but realized they want to add a 25% tax on top of the reception location and think that is insane. Is anyone able to negotiate that price?

We are having 65-70 guests and I know that placed holds double. WAnt to see if that os workable as I love the gabii restaurant but feel the price is high.

Let me know what the terrace give you if you dont mind. Im trying to decide as well on reception options/prices etc. This resort prices out higher on the wdding side I feel like.

Thanks

Hi Anna,
We're having our wedding at the PPR June 2011 too, what date is your wedding? Who you are communicating with from the resort?

Hello,
I had my wedding at PPC this month and the 25% is non negotiable for food and drink. My coordinator was Teresa from Canada and she was great. You are better off dealing with her then the girls directly in the resort until the day you get there.

Regarding prices they are very elevated. I had an estimnated 52 guest and my experience was wonderful despite the cost. What I recommend is that you ask alot of questions. Read all the forums for that resort and think about what would make for a nice comfortable event. If you are concerned about cost before booking request a payment calculator and dont forget to add taxes before booking.

Hi,

I stood at PPC and The Reserve had a Gabi restaurant and the colors were a goldish creme and a baby turqouise/seafoam. Not sure if Palma has the same decor.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
