Girls i'm another bride who's dad is not coming :o(... he sounds very similar to your dads! lol... must be their age.. I went through all the emotions, hurt, cried alot, angry, frustrated, embarrassed.. but now i'm OK. If i think about it i get upset so i try not to think of it. I am used to the fact now he wont be there but i have my gorgeous boy who will be 13 when we go and he is doing me the proud honor of walking me down the aisle. I'm sure a few tears will be shed! I well up just thinking of it! ha ha....

Roo66 how you getting the sand home? I was thinking of doing it but i'm undecided!

We got the resort photographers rates today and they are the same as 2010 which is great!

Girls i'm a bit worried. I have our date confirmed with the hotel and they have said i dont need to make a deposit just pay when we get to resort. But i've heard so many brides talking about signing a contract etc and i haven't done anything like this!! Do you think it will be OK... all the WC sent me was a guest list with who is coming, dates of flights etc...

Michelle im not going to bring the sand home.I liked the idea of doing it and involving the kids but where am i going to put a vase of hot pink and turquoise sand in my home.

For me its purly symbolic.I guess that may come across as rather nasty. If i could of got one of the sand frames i would of gone that route.

If the kids say anything we can bring it home and do it again i guess.

Looking at what ive bought this morning im happy with it.Which is a good sign i dont have buyers regret.

Now the next challenge is to find paper parasols !!!!!!!!!

Eight weeks left and i am feeling a little weary from it all i never thought id say that lol

I may feel motivated once more after my dress fitting on Monday

Also how did you pay your deposit, they were asking for a copy of the front and back of my card and the woman at my bank nearly had a heart attack when I told her that!!!!

Hope you ncan help, Jacqui x
Hi Jacqui,

Not sure about the fax number unfortunately but I also had to do a copy of the front and back of card its not particuarly safe to do but sounds like its standard there.

Rush Fee For Parasols by michellesthisandthat on Etsy

Dont know if it will be any help?

roo, your ikea bargains sound fab... what a great idea :-) Were not doing a sand ceremony but if we were i think i would copy your idea as its so practical. Ikea is brilliant... thats one thing i miss about living at my mum and dads, they live like 10 min walk away from Ikea in Warrington and used to go all the time... not its like over 2 hours away in a car for me :-( lol x
You had such a productive day all round then .... :-)

I went through all the emotions when i didnt know if my mum and dad were coming!! and still am knowing my sister and her family wont be coming or my younger brother :-( They have their reasons and i will NEVER hold it against them and when deciding on a DW i knew this was bound to happen... i'll just get millions of pix and remember as many details as poss so when i tell and show them they will feel like they were there :-) Like you Michelle i know i will shed a tear on the day but they will be with me some how x

Michelle, thats great that you have 2010 photog prices :-) Thats one less worry for you x

Thanks Nicky i love the parasols you posted.I wanted 12 though and the shipping is so high.Im going to check ebay in the hope someone from the uk has something.

My eldest sons girlfriend is an artist i think ill ask her to help me create something.

Infact if the parasols were easier to get hold of she could start her own etsy buisness.

Umm it cant be that hard can it.She slept here last night im going to pounce when she gets up lol x

Hi, we also had problems faxing our signed contracts...we ended up scanning it in and emailing it to our contact in miami..you should do that, faxes are so unreliable at the best of times!lol

I filled out the form with all my info, that is only so they have a record of your details incase you cancel so they can take the money! We didn't pay our deposit til we were checking out and paying for everything. Nearer the time your wedding co-ordinator will email you asking if miami have been in contact to take the deposit yet, and she will tell you that they might get in touch, in which case you'd need to pay the deposit, otherwise you pay it onsite. I think because we are in the UK they don't contact us for it.

I've just donated some of my point to you lady...being a fellow UK bride and also having your wedding at MP, hopefully these will make it easier for you to view all the brilliant things on this site :)

Michelle i love your bridesmaids dresses.I dont think you need necklaces with them the necckline is fab as it is.Maybe a bracelet. How old is your son good old next go up to age 16.We went shopping today we went into hobby craft and i found four small starfish in a pack i got two packs and sent Paul to see if he could find magnets.Tomorrow im gluing the magnet and making buttonholes for all the boys and Pauls dad.Josh my youngest wanted a buttonhole i think the total was less than £10.00.

I found the sand aswell but i thought £4 a tub was quite a lot i found some in merchant chandler for £1.50 a tub so that job is ticked off the list

The parasols are bugging me i dont want to pay $70 for shipping

I guess im waiting for a bargain,or for Paul to say hell get them lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
