omg that is awesome lol

are any of you worried about vendors double booking? My hair and makeup guy Fernando has apparently been double booking a few people and now I am getting nervous.

At least here we all know who is using who for our dates lol but that is my worst nightmare that something like that would happen.

I am nervous about it too! I am one of the girls that Fernando had an overlapping booking with. I spoke with him about it and he promised me that the girl before me would not interfere with me and that he would get to me on time. But I have to say even though he reassured me I am still nervous about it because I think he is cutting the time too close. I'd rather have a problem with any other vendor but this one. Especially because Fernando doesn't work with a contract.

I was thinking of still looking around but I think that means that I'd have to forfeit my deposit sad.gif

Ultimately, I DON'T wan to have to rush the day I'm getting ready. I want to chill with my friends, drink champagne and enjoy getting married :)

Still undecided. Any advice?

I feel the exact same way. And to me the hair and make up are the most important part.

One of my good friends who is also a bm is really good at hair and make up. I originally did not ask her because I wanted her to get pampered and enjoy the day to.

However just in case I asked if she would be a back up if Fernando runs late or anything like that happens. There is no room in our wedding day to fall behind so everything has to run on time. Were going to have a cheese and wine party lol and shes going to do makeup trials and hair for me and all the other girls just in case she needs to fill in.

I figured at the worst she could start the girls if Fernando is running late and just leave me to last and than I will only pay him for me or whoever else he gets to.

I just felt like I have to have a plan B but hopefully everything will go as planned. Any girls you know maybe that are coming for your wedding that could fill in in case?

Unfortunately, no. That is exactly how I feel that I need a plan b. I hate that I have to feel that way since with a vendor that I am paying.

I am really considering looking into the woman Lady Di used and losing my deposit with Fernando. It sucks but I'd rather lose $250 to have piece of mind.

I totally agree this is not something we should be having to worry about. I am sorry you even have to consider it especially since I know Fernando's deposit is a pretty big one sad.gif

I considered doing the same and going with Norma that woman Lady_Di used. However she was really late for Lady_Di and she did not get a chance to get pictures with her bridesmaids because of it.

ugghhhh its such a hard choice and one we shouldn't even have to be worrying about.

How close is Fernando cutting it between you and the other bride? And where is the other brides wedding in relation to distance from the Royal?

Do you know of another wedding Fernando is doing besides mines and yours on the 12th? According to what he told me, your wedding is 1st priority because you booked before me. He actually said to me that he couldnt do make-up for my wedding bc both of our weddings are at the same time, 4pm. He referred me to his teacher for this reason. I felt like he understood that it would be pretty messed up if he agreed to do both of our weddings because the times are so close. At no point did I feel like he was going to rush with you just to get to me. He has a pretty good reputation and he kept thanking me saying he really appreciates all of our reviews. I dont think he will jeopardize his rep by booking 2 weddings and not giving his brides 100%. Atleast, this is what I got from out conversation. I hope this eases your concerns a little...

No I do not know of any other wedding. This really does ease my concerns. He has been wonderful to work with so far and like you said he has such a great reputation.

I just got nervous because I heard of other brides who had gotten double booked. But as you said he is a professional so if he says there is enough time to do both weddings we can only hope he is right.

Thank you for easing my anxiety :)

Just to be honest, not to purposely make anyone else nervous, Fernando did book myself and ddemayo for the same date, our weddings are both at 3pm, and he told BOTH of us he'd be there at 11am....how he will manage that is a mystery to me, our weddings are at least a 20 minute drive apart... When I asked him about this, he told me he hadn't yet booked another wedding for my day...I confirmed with ddemayo, a fellow BDWer that she had indeed book and paid the deposit.

We haven't figured it out completely yet, and I'm sure it'll work out, but just putting this out there so you guys are careful with him, and be upfront with him about the schedule. I know he has a great reputation, but sometimes good people make mistakes too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
