Any brides with tattoos???

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I'm getting married next year in Jamaica and although I haven't chosen my dress yet, I know I want strapless or spaghetti straps. I have a few tattoos, shoulder, back of my neck and behind my ear. I don't regret any of them (although I'd like to do a little altering on my shoulder lily), I don't want them in my pictures?? Has anyone tried any kind of tattoo cover-up that actually works and doesn't look like a caked on mess? All ads online look like "magic"...hmmmm...doubtful! I'd love to hear from anyone who has used a product or knows someone who has. Thank you all so much!!! smile159.gif

From a photographer... The MAC one is pretty good.

and besides... Any professional photographer should be able to photoshop them out if you ask. They might do it for free if it's just a couple or they might charge you depending on how big the tattos are

thanks, i was wondering the same thing last night because my dress doesn't cover the shoulder one, the only thing is, that of mine keloided, so its slightly raised, i hope it covers ok or can be photoshopped easily.

good idea to try before wedding for transferring onto things, runs and smudges..

I think your best bet is to test them out with a tank top and take some pictures to see how it looks, and how the coverage lasts, and how it does or does not get on your clothes. A tip from a former performer, baby powder works really well to set make up and keep it from running. put some in a sock and pat the sock onto the make up, then brush away any residual powder. this is how clowns keep their make up from running.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! I really appreciate all the info girls. I'm going to try the MAC one as well as Kat Von D's line. I heard she had something out for tattoo coverage but couldn't seem to find it online..but I'll check with Sephora now. If that doesn't work..photoshop will have to do. Just stinks that my hubby to be is not a huge fan of tattoos, especially when I'll be wearing a wedding dress :-( I agree with that in a way but if it works out that the makeup looks like cakey crap on my shoulder...I'd rather have my tat show for the day. :-) Again...thanks so much! I love this forum!! xoxo

  • 1 month later...

Good to know information. It just occurred to me recently that both my tattoos will be very visible and I've wondered how "good" it will look.

I might consider covering them up for the day, but then, how long does that cover up last? Will they be covered for the ceremony and immediately after or last all day?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
