Maybe not the best help on this, but we felt similarly (but family and friends said we MUST register)  so we did and we just put a link on the website that says we're registered for some "traditional wedding items" at XXXX.  We kept the registry really to things like china and silverware (which we wouldn't get otherwise).  But we're not otherwise mentioning that we're registered to anyone unless they specifically ask and making it known to through conversation that we DO NOT expect gifts.

Any suggestions as for how to word this so it comes out right?

Hmmm this is a tricky one. Here is what I did. I sent out registry cards with our invites. Then as people book with our Travel agent she tells me and I made this cute postcards that say Thank you for Booking your Trip to OUr wedding :) I then write a thank you note to that person and some where in there I mention. Your attendance is all the gift you need to bring to Mexico.

Hope that helps or at least helps the brainstorming get going.

What a sweet thing to do! I might copy the thank you note, but probably by email since most of our guests live so far away. I have added links to our registries on our "registry page" on our website, but still have not found a text/wording that a like...

Oh, no!! I just got so excited because I thought someone would be there the same week as me.  Then I realized we are leaving the day before you arrive.  My fiance and I are arriving on the 9th and leaving the 16th! sad.gif

Everyone seems to know where they are staying.  I do not know what my TA is doing, but she told me that we will not know which section we are in until everyone books.  She assured me there is a room block.  I'm confused.  She says she has booked a bunch of wedding at Moon, so I guess I just have to trust her.

How long will you be there? We are getting married on May 20th but we will be arriving on the 17th. We booked our guest on the Sunrise side but we are staying on the Grand side (they want to party but we want quiet time when needed)

That is a really  nice idea.  I didn't even think to do that.  I may have to steal this as well.  As for the registry, I'm letting my BMs handle all of this.  They can include the registry info on the shower invites.

That's great!! I was hoping someone on the site would be there the same time!  How far along are you in planning?   You are getting married on the 15th is that right?  I've talked to so many people on here I get everyone confused.  Are you also using Octavio as your photographer?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
