The night before.....???

Recommended Posts

We haven't totally decided what we want to do... but what our plan right now is that he will go stay with his best man, and my MOH and the bridesmaid that is the gf of the best man will come stay in the honeymoon suite with me. I don't want to be in a room by myself in the DR! hahaha

I also say it's your decision and you should do what makes the two of you happy. So if that means staying in the same room, I say go for it! My fiance and I are planning on staying in separate rooms the night before only because in our package we get a complimentary room for the groom the night before! If the room wasn't complimentary we would probably be staying in the same room lol! Good luck with your decision though!

I've been thinking that we will spend the night before apart...Just seems like it will be exciting to see each other for the first time on the wedding day at the time I walk down the aisle. There will be enough rooms for him to bunk up with one of his buddies I'm sure for the night before!

im not following any tradition and sharing the same bed the night before, and breakfast the next morning, my fiance is also curling my hair as he is so brilliant at it so we may leave each other around 1pm before our 4pm wedding. He is my best friend and the only person who will keep me calm otherwise i would be fretting all day and night!

I had never even thought of this with having a DW until this was discussed in another thread.... I am now hoping to see FI on the night, not all night and then disapear. I will prob stay with my parents in their room :-) but who knows this may change, we may just do what feels right at the time :-) xox

Well, I'm following tradition on that one, even though the whole idea of a DW kind of defeats the purpose of tradition.

I don't want him to see me or the dress before the big day when I walk down. . .

We're going to sleep in separate rooms the night before.

I would say do what makes you happy. . .it's your wedding!

So my fiance just told me that he does not want to spend the night before without me. "That's no way to start the morning of your big day - without your love laying next to you?! I'll be traumatized!!" LOL! Jokes and all, I think we'll spend the night together and just part ways to get dressed.

im glad i found a thread on this!! my fiance (mexican, so maybe is a culture thing!?) had never heard of the tradition. i think he evisaged us sleeping together, waking up together, getting ready together and then travelling to the ceremony together.

so when i mentioned that we'd have to work out sleeping arrangements the night before, he looked at me like i had two heads and then with a sad face "but where will i be sleeping?!" =(   as if i was going to put him to sleep on the street or something hahahaha

i just wanted to have that moment where i arrive at the church or the beach (depending how well converting to being catholic goes) and he sees me for the first time and is hopefully overwhelmed with emotion and all that stuff. rather than us both getting ready at the same time and like "oh thats your dress, nice". i also had to explain to him that he wasnt coming dress shopping with me -not sure why he thought he had to, but he was quite happy when he heard he didnt

i just need to explain to him that whilst he will be staying with the guys...its not an excuse for another stag party or drinking session hahaha. though hes pretty sensible so im sure he'll realise that =)

We are going to spend the night before our wedding together, and then part ways in the morning before our afternoon wedding. I think we'll do a first look before the ceremony for the sake of getting pictures done before the sun sets, but I think it'll be perfect for us! We will have lived together for over 3 years before the wedding anyways, so tradition doesn't really matter to us.

Definitely do what makes you happy and what makes sense for the start of your lives together as husband and wife!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
