I totally agree! I looked first off and they looked 'fine', but then with each additional set I looked at they were all identical and definitely not creative. I have checked out Sacha and another photographer who seemed reasonable. Pilar told me it would be an additional 900 bucks anyway to use the resort photographers and get more than just what the package included - so I feel like its worth it to spend more and get something I really like.

Thanks!

PLEASE HELP!

I am about 6 weeks out from my wedding and trying to fill out the worksheet to send to Ana. I am so overwhelmed!!!! I still have people pending on coming to the wedding. Is this preliminary?

My time frame looks like this...

3:00 wedding on beach

4:00 cocktails at Blue Beach Bar

6:30 doors open to Ocen Front Terrace

7:00 intro bride and groom and wedding party

7:20 start serving dinner

when do I do the cake and the toast?

has anyone done a signature cocktail? if yes, what?

Are they flexable with the dinner choices? some of the choices are a little weird!

I thought I was ahead of the game!!!

I agree that most were over $2000. We booked Gonzalo Nunez and we are paying $1700 for 6 hours of coverage. We will receive all of the rights to the pictures. His pictures are very good and he has been incredibly nice and answers emails very quickly.

melissa80 - I want to do a signature drink but I have no idea what to do and what to call it! Keep me posted if you do one.

With a TTD added to the 6 hrs about  $2600- 6000. The reason I didn't like the resort photographer was I felt the pictures kind of fell flat and weren't overly creative. They look nice at first glance but once I started looking at other wedding photographer photos I then realized they weren't nearly as good. Some of the photographers whose prices were most reasonable include: Sascha Gluck, Dean Sanderson, Fine Art Studio and Ivan Luckie (a little more). Good luck!

Are you also having dancing etc? It might just be me, but it seems like a long time between the cocktail party and dinner. What do you think about doing the toast toward the end of dinner and then cake after that? We are considering doing an orange mojito for our signature drink but really haven't given it too much though. Sorry I can't be more help!

here is some of the things i asked ana about the dinner hope it helps...

I asked the WC if we could give options for dinner, without doing a buffet this is what she said:

Can we offer a choice of entres for the guests.. would that be an extra cost?

You can offer their choice for dinner, for the main entrée only 2 options, the additional cost is $ 30 usd per person; the other option is a head of time you can let me know how many people will eat one option and how many people will eat the other option only for the main course

If i ask ahead of time what choice of entre they would prefer..would i still have to pay the additional 30?

If you let me know in advance how many people will eat one option and how many people will eat the other option, there is not an additional charge, and only for the main course

In terms of planning the menu, can i mix the choices? Take the starter from one and the dessert from the other? Can i use the dessert from the Eternity menu? Is there a cost to do this?

Yes you are able to mix and match, but is must to be set menú

Also i was wondering if there is a kids menu... if so what is it and what is the cost?

The kid menu: fruit cocktail, cheese burger, chicken fingers, spaghetti, and ice cream, there is not an additional for this menu

Also i have a friend or two that are vegitarian... is there a vegetarian option for the whole meal? cost?

Yes there is an option for vegetarian menú, it is the same cost as a regular menu

Hope this helps!

I'm using photos in cancun as well and am extermely excited about them. Have been very helpful and responsive. An all day package was $2000 with rights to the images. Coming from Chicago that price is almost unheard of. Please let us know how they do at your wedding in Dec. Thats so close im so jealous!

    • Dental care would be very challenging when you are invited to a wedding. Everyone needs a clean and white teeth. I was also looking for a dental clinic in Toronto but all of the Doctor were busy. This was when I found Walk in Dental Clinic in Yonge Street just south of Steels. Since they were open until midnight, I did not have to leave my work early to get to my dentist. This dental clinic used dental veneers for my teeth and at the wedding everyone was asking me how I created my smile very nice.  The fact that they accept emergency patients for dental care is also very good. before the wedding, I recommend using this dentistry. If you need emergency dental care in Toronto visit Dr Karimi and Walk in dental clinic for their great patient care and service.
    • I'm so sorry to hear this  Did you have a signed contract with him? What did he or the contract say the turn around time be? If it is way past the deadline, you have made several documented attempts to contact him, and he has broken your contract and failed to produce what has been promised, you could resort to writing an online review of your experience -- often times, that motivates vendors who've dropped the ball to rectify the situation because it affects other potential clients.
    • STAY AWAY FROM CARIBBEAN EMOTIONS PHOTOGRAPHY!!!! Michael Weiler is a SCAMMER he took our money and disappeared!! we hired him as our photographer for our wedding back in November, he gave us a run around for the first week or 2 saying our pictures are almost ready and then disappeared. we have been sending him emails, texts and phone calls for the past 4 months and he is now where to be found. I made a fake account to email him and he answered right away as he is only interested in taking peoples money and not give anything in return.
    • For weddings you should definitely use a travel agent as there are promotions and amenities with a group block that you will not get by booking individually like comped rooms, upgrades, spa treatments, etc.
    • Congratulations and welcome to the forum! There are lots of great resort options in Punta Cana and we have stayed at or toured many of them.  Are you looking for a family friendly resort or adults only?  What you interested in with nature and the ceremony? All of the resorts will have different wedding locations and there are also a variety of off resort wedding venues in Punta Cana. Please feel free to email us at info@wrighttravelagency.com if you'd like us to send resort info and check group rates. Thanks! Patty
