We had our reception from 6:30-11. We paid an extra fee to have the reception for an additional hour. It is based on the number of people you have. I had 75 people so our fee was something like $1200.

I never felt that people were looking for tips but we did so anyways because everyone there works so hard. We tipped Pilar $100, the DJ $50, the waitstaff at our reception $100 and the photographers $100. This doesnt include the tipping we did throughout the week to the bartenders. Everyone is very appreciative of the tips so we were happy to do so.

Ladies- I was married at the NOW Jade last Saturday and it was more than I could have ever hoped for. Pilar is amazing and put me a complete ease. We had 77 guests and it was seamless and flawless. Friday we had our rehearsal on the pergola at 4:30 followed by a 2 hour private cocktail party in the lobby (they sectioned of a large area for us). After that we all went to the buffet for dinner (they were able to seat us all in the same area together). Saturday was our ceremony on the pergola, cocktail party at the Mix beach bar followed by reception at the bamboo room. We used Derek and Loraina from Photos in Cancun (www.photosincancun.com) and they were great to work with. We were sent home with around 3000 photos! The resort is amazingly modern, clean and the staff is great. They brought out balloons and masks and tequilla to kick off dancing at the reception and our guests loved it! I am using Photos in Cancun and they are very reasonably priced and great to work with so far. My wedding is on Dec 10th so I will have more info then but so far i have been very pleased and am excited to have them shoot my wedding day! www.photosincancun.com

Hello ladies! Has anyone or is anyone planning to have their reception at Castaways? We are getting married Dec 10, 2011. Our group outgrew the Bamboo Room which is what I was planning everything around. I want rectangle tables but have not seen any photos of someone who has used that set up in Castaways. I am looking for decoration ideas and layout (tables, dancefloor) for the room. Photos would be a huge help too! Thanks!
