I wasn't pleased with the flowers in the wedding book either..but Ana said I could send her a picture of what I wanted and she'd try to copy it...i'm hoping that works out!! We're getting married in less than 2 months!

So, we were lucky enough to have space available at the Jade on the 18th.

Any advice would be appreciated, since I made all my planning around the Dreams...

Ceremony will be at the Pergola

Cocktail, probably blue bar but I would prefer Orange bar so I am working on it

Reception : On the Carnival terrace (I would love to hear your comments or pictures on this, because I am really not too sure about that one!)

What about DJ on site ?

Ana is my WC, she sent me flowers options which I am not really pleased by...anybody has advice on that ?

Thanks girls :)

Hi everyone!

I am new to the forum and was looking into the Jade Riviera for our wedding - we are trying to plan for April/May - yikes!

What package did you all use and do you know what the total cost of the wedding came to? We are planning on around 30-40 guests, so wanted to get an idea of what we would be spending. We want to do a ceremony overlooking the ocean (at the Jade it would be that wooden gazebo I think?) and a cocktail hour and private reception.  Do you all know who the resort photographer and DJ are, and would you recommend them?

Any tips and info you could give would be great- I am getting anxious to finally choose a place! :)

Hi smspringer13!

Welcome!!!

If you want to over look the ocean but not be on the beach the location would be the pergola. From what i have read the best place for a cocktail hour is at the blue beach bar. And for a private reception it really depends... you can spend the extra and rent out a resturant, but i dont believe you can have a dj and dancing? If you wanted to go out side Castaways seems to be popular... and inside would be the bamboo ballroom.. Hope that helps. If you go on the now jade website you can download the wedding book and it gives you all your options:) Good luck!!!

Regarding the flowers, Ana told me the same thing, I could send her something and they will try to reproduce it... BUT of course everything has a price tag...and it's coming quite expensive !

I've have asked for 2 quotes from local florist in Cancun... i'll see how I can have more for my money...

Hi fellow brides!

I'm getting married there Jan 26th and initially chose the eternity package but am thinking of switching to the divine. I haven't asked too much about swapping yet but am hoping to with a few things. When I was initially thinking about booking Pilar told me that there was no swapping allowed but that's clearly not the situation... Are most of you dealing with Ana or Pilar?

I'm not having a DJ, i decided to swap him for an extra hour of dancing. I'm bringing my friend as my photographer so swapped the photog service for an extra hr of video. We get private transfer one way incl in our wedding package but decided on swapping that for a free hair and makeup trial. i"ve swapped a lot but i like the fact that i don't have to pay extra for anything. I'll be there on nov 27th for my dec 2nd wedding and i feel like they know nothing on what i want, but i'm just going to wing it and hope it all turns out hehe. Congrats on your upcoming wedding

I am also bringing my own photographer. Instead of using the resorts for the wedding I am using my time the night before so my guests can come down and take family/couple pictures on the beach. I am then gifting them the photos with my 50 free prints. I was told when I booked that you could only swap out things by using them for the same thing. Like if you didnt 'want to use their bouquet you could get a centerpiece flower instead.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
