I've also been thinking about this.  I think we may write our own ceremony (with help of the internet) but I'm wondering if any of the recent brides were able to meet with the officiant first?  I'm sure what they have is fine, but I really want to meet the person who is going to marry us and discuss what they are going to say.

Hi Brides!

So excited, we just nailed down our date with Pilar- May 25, 2013!  We're doing the Pergola, the Mix Bar, and the Bamboo Room...FI and I are working on our website (wedsite.com) and are wondering if any of you can help....

1. Can we only choose from the entrees listed in the Divine package or are all of the entrees available to be picked from any of the packages?
2. Is it a set menu, or can our guests choose from a list of options (ie. beef, or seafood, or vegetarian)
3. How many options can we offer to our guests for entrees?
4. Is there is a Vegetarian menu available as an option?
5. Is there is a childrens menu available?

I am so excited, now that we've secured our date, we can really start planning! Now, to decide on my colours...

Sorry, my post was held by the moderator and so it's a double.  oops.  From what Ana told me, you can choose between to entrees (not the sides) and they need to know before hand what every one is having.  Same thing for the kids menu...I think the choices are chicken fingers, a cheese burger and one or two things that I can't remember.  Kids under 12 are also half the price.  I think you can upgrade to the Divine menu but you just have to pay the difference.  Good luck!

I am planning on doing a first look before the ceremony...I think that only takes about 10 minutes. After the ceremony we will probably take some pics with everyone (we are only having about 17 guests) and then they guests can head on to the cocktail hour while we finish our photos.

So I'm trying to figure out music for the ceremony and I am coming up blank! We are doing the symbolic ceremony (again making it look legit) and I'm not sure how many songs/music we need. Also, should I do just acoustic (no lyrics) for the songs we choose? I'm not sure what to do! What has/are you guys doing?

For ceremony music, I may have a song playing while everyone is getting settled, then a processional song and a recessionsal song.  We're not doing a sand ceremony or anything like that but if you are, I would suggest another song at that point maybe.  Have you listened to Vitamin String Quartet?  I am walking to their version of Coldplay's Viva La Vida :)  They make any song sound elegant...even the 80's rock covers

Thanks! I will have to check them out. Still debating on doing a sand ceremony...I'm doing a ring warming ceremony so I don't know if I need to add anything else.

Hi, My wedding is less than 3 months away and I am starting to think about decor and setup ect. Are most people bringing their own centrepieces, room decor, cake cutter, ect? I have no other family members flying out from my city so I would have to bring this all down myself and its going to be alot.  I have heard some people say that they brought nothing and they did a great job at making the room look nice but when I asked Ana she said they don't decorate?  Any suggestions??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
