Hello,

I am planning to get married January 2011. I'm looking to go to Cancun, (I have been there and Mayan) and just don't know which resort to look at as there are so many and I am overwhelmed! We want a 4-5 star beach front thats going to be a reasonable cost for our guests. If you have any info that can assist me that would be great.

Thank you,

Mandy

welcome! Definitely check out the thread and wedding reviews, to get a better sense of the resorts. And also narrow it down, yourself, by doing your own research. I was totally overwhelmed at first but after narrowing things down, and reading reviews, we finally settled on our resort!

I recently went down to Mexico and toured some resorts in Cancun & the Riviera Maya. In Cancun I went to Dreams, The Royal, Gran Caribe Real, Beach Palace, Cancun Palace, Sun Palace, Riu Cancun, Riu Palace Las Americas, Le Blanc, ME and Royal Sands. Overall, I preferred the Beach Palace the best because I want something all inclusive, beautiful beach, good food, and clean & comfortable. If you want some feedback on some of the other places, let me know what you are looking for and I can let you know what would be a good fit.

Welcome and Congrats!!! you will find just about everything you need here in terms of wedding stuff! Im getting married at Dreams Cancun. But used to live/work in cancun for a couple years....some great hotels (in terms of price/ammenities) are any of course dreams, any of the palace resorts, the riu resorts, and all the fiesta americanas too....however, each place has its own wedding policies and packages so do your research in the wedding review thread! Good Luck!!!!

Hello,

There are so many options that you need to set-up priorities:

All inlcuse or not would be the first one...if you don't care about food than all-inclusive is ok...if food is a priority then avoid the all inclusive

Privacy - some hotels are wedding factories where you are just a number...."next bride, please!"

Budget: try to elaborate a budget and so you can narrow your choices

THis is just a start...then each hotel has its politics....and that is the next step....do I wan ttheir vendors, do they have more than one wedding per day.....

Lots of homeworks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
