Tux or casual digs for the guys?

Recommended Posts

I am still undecieded on a linen suit or just kakhi's and a nice crisp shirt. I feel like because we are on the beach it needs to be a bit more casual but with me in my dress i want him to look good beside me. I am interested in seeing what others have to say as well. Thanks for this poll

Why not just go for the Khaki linen suit? That way you can get the suit/tuxy look and the casualness of the fabric in one ?!

I mean honestly we did Tuxes for our wedding but they were a lighter color and only because the hubby felt that he wanted the look of a tux, the kids wore linen pants and a guyabera linen shirt with long sleeves and short sleeves for the younger one!

I think my thing is I like the black color next to the ivory/white of the dress. I mean when it comes down to it we are all snazzied up (i.e. not wearing any old off the rack dress from your local department store) so I think the guys should be too!

Black just bumps things up a notch, even if it is a linen suit or whatever. I am asking guests to dress "beach chic" so khakis and linen stuff is ok for them, but I don't want my FI to blend in with the guests!!!!

I did not choose a DW because I wanted a casual environment, I wanted an environment that was beautiful and honeymoon wrapped up in one!

I dunno, that's just me...

My fiance's stepsons are the "Best Men" and I wanted all of them to have the same pants, so I sewed all of them linen pants. They'll be wearing white linen long-sleeve shirts. I had originally planned on wearing a short wedding dress, and so they were all going to wear khaki shorts, but I changed my mind and am wearing a long gown, so I told him he had to wear pants. LOL. He wasn't happy about it, but the kids think it's great and LOVE their outfits!

My fiance bought a light linen suit and white shirt. I told him to not even worry about the jacket other than maybe for pictures. I am wearing a full length wedding dress but it doesn't have any under-skirting so it's very lean (more like a red carpet dress than a wedding poofy dress). I can't imagine wearing a tux on the beach. Just seems contradictory to me.

Yea I really want more of a chill vibe for the reception, not the ceremony itself. I am changing to an ivory knee length dress for the reception and maybe he can change into the khaki look for that. Then we get the best of both worlds!!

You wonderful ladies have swayed me against the tux thing, but we will look for black linen suits over the summer for him. Mens Wearhouse a good place to look?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
