        Does anyone know if you have to wait until you are assigned an on-site WC before you can request certain things?  Like Scorpio30 said, her WC already had her down for a gazebo wedding before she even requested anything.  Just wondering if you can tell your Miami WC what you want before having to wait for the on-site one, just in case they already have things booked. 


        Scorpio,  did you have issues in changing your ceremony location, or was that an easy fix?  It seems like since they only do one wedding every hour, hopefully you can choose the same ceremony location as whoever else that day, but I worry about them not being willing to do that because of take-down and set-up times for the next ceremony the following hour.

          The Miami coordinator cannot arrange reserving locations, only your on-site WC.  However, if you have a group booking you should be assigned a WC at that time.  I was given the name of mine immediately after signing the contract. However, I was also told right away that she wouldn't be available for several months.  But she still did randomly respond to emails.  My Miami coordinator was able to send me info of reception sites to review while I waited to hear back from her.


          I don't think making changes once you are there are too big of a deal but you may need to change times.  While they may have 1 wedding an hour, I think they try to make them at different locations on the resort.  As far a reception locations, I believe you can change those as well. Additionally there are some spots that they have that are not listed in the info they email you that you may be able to choose from when you get there.

            I've been having a lot of issues lately with MP and my assigned WC. Almost a month ago I tried reserving all my wedding event locations and never heard back from my WC. My TA reached out to MP and the supervisor contacted me and apologized for the delay and let me know my WC is out of the office for personal reasons. I was able to make sure my ceremony is on the beach and not the gazebo. So just yesterday is when I actually got all the info re:rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail, and reception. Yup, 35 days prior to arriving in Cancun. Nothing like last minute!!


            I first made contact with my WC is July and have no clue why all the reception locations were gone already.

              So I have been working wtih Pilar Fernandez in Miami...I told her there was just NO WAY im waiting til a couple months before the wedding to reserve my reception locations because I was not having an outdoor reception. I asked them to send me the options I have for reception areas on the MP property and they sent me a document....from those pictures I picked one...and yes, I got the line of "we cannot guarantee"...I insisted on not having an outdoor reception and not waiting until it was too late and they assigned me an on-site coordinator right then and there. I emailed her, told her I wanted the Star Ballroom reserved as of now...and she wrote me back and it's done. BE ASSERTIVE WOMEN! They are getting YOUR money. FYI My wedding isn't until JULY 23 2011. My own healthy dose of OCD wouldn't wait any longer to book reception locations. Feel free to email me at cynguzman@gmail.com if you want the document I got about MP reception areas and pictures...                   Does anyone know if there is an additional pp charge to have a private event near the pool area? I saw a link earlier on this thread with some great pics of reception at a pool area. Thanks for any help.

                      Yes, I had this discussion with my WC about this.  They will forward a list of the restaurants that they allow the dinner reservations.  However I found that two of the places that I wanted were already booked, so as soon as you decide which restaurant you want your rehearsal dinner at, book it ASAP.
