Changes for brides at Grand Palladium Jamaica

Recommended Posts

I wrote to the WC asking her to explain the major differences between the Pearl and Caribbean packages. Here is her response:

"There are 2 key elements that will determine what package offers you the

better deal.

(1) Cost of the package versus amenities included:

(a) Caribbean Package is USD2000.00 for 8 persons and USD50.00 for

attendees over 8.

(B) Pearl Package is USD2400.00 for 8 persons and USD20.00 for

attendees over 8.

(2) Private Reception:

(a) Caribbean Package - private reception is an hourly venue rental

fee of USD100.00 per hour.

(B) Pearl Package - private reception is USD45.00 per person (we are

removing an hourly charge and introducing a per person fee)

Hypothetically speaking, if we are working with 36 persons, the cost for the

wedding plus the reception would be:

- Caribbean USD3500.00

- Pearl USD4280.00

So, the Caribbean package would actually work out cheaper in the end.

Let me know what you think!

thanks for sharing this email. As I was becoming totally confused AGAIN. But it sounds like if you were quoted (like in my case) an old wedding package price, they will still honor it but you should still check your situation to see what package works out best for you.
I completely agree with your assessment. The WC did confirm that if your have a confirmed wedding date with an old package, the new pricing will not effect you. I do not plan to switch.

I here ya; based on your email you are much better off with what you have in place already. I'm so glad, I booked and have an email with confirmed pricing at the old rates too. As I expect 50-60 guests those new rates would have destroyed my budget!

That is so weird she told me that she would still honor the 100per hour for the private dining area because we already booked that. But I could switch to the Pearl package to save money. I would ask her about that. I made her write me an email with the cost breakdown so even if they try to switch things when we get down there they wont be able to, I have it all in writing. So by switching we are saving about 200 and gaining a lot more amenities with the Pearl package.

Where are you having the private dining venue at?

We have booked the Blue Lagoon @ $100/hr. She said they would still honor the price we were quoted with the old rates.

Definitely good to bring any prices quoted printed out with you so there isn't a problem when you're there! I've already started my folder.

I agree with you. My budget is around the old prices and any changes now would mean I might have to give something up. I will definitely be bringing my email, just in case.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
