I had on a black wool dress at my grandfather's funeral last year.  While I was helping my mom take apart some of the floral arrangements, some of the orange powdery stem stuff got on my dress.  I thought ah well it's black, I'll just brush it off.

Do you know that it literally like bleached an orange stain onto my black dress?!?  I had it drycleaned and everything.  I was shocked!

Just a word of caution. . ,  I'd hate to see you stain your gorgeous dress!!

Sorry I'm such a Debbie Downer tonight  . . . insert sound effect.

hahahaha I knew that already, that is why when we buy lilies from fancy floral shop, they remove the stem from the centre...so they don't release their nasty smell and the powders.

Do you have a link you can email me for the shorts and short sleeves. I am desperately looking for the same thing! [email protected]

Since most of the shorts were already dwindling in stocks we were forced to go online. FI really wanted 'surfer' style stuff...so the websites we used carry the 'surfer' brands, Volcom, Hurley, Billabong, etc.  We used www.dogfunk.com , but we also looked at a lot of stuff on www.swell.com

We are using http://www.dogfunk.com/snowboard/Volcom-Frickin-Stripe-Too-Chino-Short-Mens/VLC2856M.html (shorts in black with pinstripe) and http://www.dogfunk.com/snowboard/Volcom-X-Factor-Stripe-Shirt-Short-Sleeve-Mens/VLC4664M.html (shirt in White- has stripes that match our wedding colors). My BM's are wearing turquoise halter summer dresses.

I saw a few shirts that I liked but havn't made them go get them yet. How long should one wait to tell the GM to get their attire? I feel like if I wait too long I would be stressing that they wouldn't get their clothes on time.

I would make sure to check how long they will carry shorts in a style you like. We are doing shorts as well, and I figure it's summer now, better get what we want now, than to wait when it's no longer available. I realize Tommy Bahama has summer stuff all year long, but the styles change!

Hey ladies! Just wanted to check in with you and see how everything is going. I have under 6 months to go now...ack!!!!

We ordered FI's suit last night from www.studiosuits.com. I'm really excited/nervous to see how it turns out! Hopefully I did the measuring right. We ordered him a terry rayon suit instead of the more popular linen, but that's because it will be the only suit FI owns and I want him to be able to wear it to places other than just our wedding :)

Kinda nervous as I still haven't heard back from my WC confirming our date, even though we've given her our booking number (twice!). I'd like to get the options for the reception/bouquets/etc soon so I can start making decisions!!

And still trying hard to lose weight! Why is it so dang easy to put on, but so dang hard to get off?

Don't worry to much! We confirmed our date back in May, and I literally just got my first email from the WC two days ago.

As for losing weight, I find if I really concentrate on eating smaller meals, but more often it always seems to help me. I am at the point that I just need to maintain my weight. Problem is FI does all the cooking and he always serves me the same size portion as his...and he's 100lb heavier than me! LOL Men just don't seem to get the problems we have in keeping our weight...or losing weight! Good luck :)

Lindobride: Thanks for the advice about the lilies. I will make sure the little things in the middle are cut out. I definitely don't want to stain my dress!! I like the first pic too. The colors are amazing :) I wonder if I get to choose the appetizers like you did? I just saw cold appetizers but just thought they would pick for me. Hmmm, ill have to look into that!

Murmel: I will look into the GM attire. I don't really have a style of shorts picked out yet, I actually just decided on having the guys wear shorts. I was leaning toward pants, but after the ungodly hot summer we've had here, I reconsidered thinking it is going to be way worse in Mexico! I did see shirts at the department store near me that I liked. I may have to take a trip there next week and see if they still have them. Otherwise....back to the drawing board! Thanks for the advice!

All: I am definitely leaning towards the first pic!

so where does one find double sided body tape? lol

in Walmart, Fabricville and online.  They are called fashion tapes, initially created by 3M for medical usage (i.e. tape the wig on a patient), so it is hypoallergic.  You can also buy it online, there is a brand called Hollywood fashion tapes.

I usually buy a big roll from Fabricville, and use it to secure bra straps, fix hem...

Since I don't like to eat bread, pasta, rice, I don't gain weight easily

I came up with a solution in case my dress gets too loose.  I got a seamless corset and will tape it to the dress

I didn't know they made seamless corsets?? thats wonderful!! I'm a little indecisive about the corset....i'm trying to get away with only wearing cups in my dress. I would hate to be pulling up my dress all night long! Good to hear about the tape too, im going to go get me some of that!!!!!!!

yes, the corset is not the sexy lacey lingerie type, it is more a shape shaper with padded cups (since I am flat like a surf board, padded cups are must!).  Wearing a bra, put cups in the dress, the fashion tape all help!

I buy my a Shopper's Drug Mart or Walmart. But I'm sure you can find it in many places. The one I usually use is literally called 'Body Tape'. Plus it's great to use to fix oops....such as pant leg hems coming undone.

I might have to look into one of these. Thank for the idea.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
