Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Jenny Penny! so exciting!!! yay!!!

Ya definitely felt rushed! it's nice to get a bunch of pics the day of the wedding, luckily we did TTD the next day with the entire wedding group so we had a few more pics than we would have.

as for the heat...i was worried about it...DH even bought 2 extra shirts so he could change throughout the day if he sweated through a shirt...and he didn't even need to change once, and he had a suit jacket! when we were there...early March...about 2:30 everyday it started to get windy...it definitely kept us all cool, which was nice. but make sure you pin your bangs down if they are long, other wise they'll drive you nuts! lol and your vail will blow like no other! lol

i finally got some wedding pics today so i'll post a few of the cake and gazebo and stuff so you can see :)

yaaa!! I'd love to see your pics!!!

Im soooo worried....because we dont really have room in our budget to bring our own photog... :S I hate to rely on the hotel photographer (some are scary right?) and I know some of our guests are pretty talented but they certainly aren't pros...

Idk... sad.gif

@ jenny: did you subscribe in that other thread about gran bahia? there is a girl (I think from canada too), she recommends a fotographer who would pay his/her own stay and flight and charge for the pictures only... this girl (name: tim-jules) was very happy with her choice.... maybe its really a good deal, you should look at it:

@ kerri: thanks again for the info... now I only need to convince my fiancé to begin with the ceremony a little earlier... I dont want to regret later that this special day was over too fast because we chose a later time :-(

Alright! i have a few key pics on photobucket ready to share!! it's soooo hard to not post a gazillion! lol

This is the looooong and beautiful walk way to the gazebo. you can hear the steel drum band the whole walk which is really nice. we had about 50 guests, which all fit in to the tiny area comfortably!

A closer up shot of us int he gazebo during the ceremony. Make sure you find out what the script is...the one Rev. Owen Watson had was terrible, we wrote our entire thing, so was much better.

We had our wedding party in the gazebo and choose to have our parents sitting up top near us too for optium viewing! lol

Pic of the steel drum band during the champagne toast. they were to the right of the gazebo and were a great touch, worth the bucks!

the cake...so beautiful!

The dinner in Dolce vita was perfect for 50 of us, could easily fit more if they arranged the tables differently. was small enough for speaches to be heard easily too as there is no mic allowed.

Head table :)

Trash the Dress Day!! so fun!

my pic in my signature of the garter toss, is at the gazebo...there are 3 or 4 steps to this level, which is where our parents sat on the sides, and then the step up to where we were for the ceremony and where the dance was. so fun!

i think that is a pic of each detail...any special pic requests, just let me know!

and i didn't realize there was another active GBP thread, awesome!!! maybe i'll check it out too.

have fun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
