Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Hi daphodil.

The hotel is huge, so it takes a long time to walk around it, to get to restaurants, to the beach, to get everywhere, its a bit of a walk. But you can pay for transportation to the gazebo on ther wedding day. I dont think it  costs very much.

i think you do have to pay ore money if you dont stay for 7 nights, not sure of the details though.

What is your date in August? I am getting married there August 18th.
Good luck with everything!

I know how you feel, trying to finish up school and working full time, while trying to plan a wedding is no easy task!

Hey ladies,

Just wanted to let you all know that I didn't realize that we needed cash for the minister and therefore refused to pay cash. I put everything on my credit card and made them pay the minister. I don't remember / think that we had to pay any additional taxes on the $400....

Hope that helps a little!

I totally hear you!! I work full time and I am also in Nursing school...I finish in December! The next two weeks with clinical and exams are going to be stressful but whenever I am stresses I dream of sitting on the beach with a drink in my hand! lol

I am doing the free package with 43 people and it still works out to be cheaper. Actually the free with everything (judges, extra people, flowers and gazebo rental) worked out the be the same as the blissful love package I was going to go with and you get way more!!

I did my final dress fitting today and now I am even more excited if that can even happen!! :)

I've been nursing now for 4 years, but it's so cool that there are several nurses (or future nurses) in one forum!

I received an email back from Chandlyn today.  Here are her responses to my questions (I know some of these have already been answered but I thought I'd share the whole email anyway).

1) Is it possible to have one large table set up for everyone to sit together rather than the traditional head table? We can do one long table
2) Is it possible to mix and match items from menu 1,2,& 3?  For example, chicken ceasar salad, beef & vegetable soup, mix grill, and cheesecake? This is possible
3) Do you have a list of songs the steel drum band plays so that I can select one to walk down the aisle to?  I don't really want the traditional wedding songs so I was hoping to have some selections to browse.I will obtain a list and forward to you.
4) Can you please arrange for a bar to be available at the gazebo during the dance?Confirmed at a cost of uS15 per person per hour
5) Is there still a beach party on Tuesday nights?  If there is, what goes on during the beach party? We no longer have a  beach party
6) I think we're actually going to go with the Free Wedding Package.  Is it possible to still get some of the options from the other wedding packages? This can be arranged at an additional cost  For example, can we still have the accompaniment to the wedding gazebo, and the fresh elegant floral decor on the bridal table?  If this is possible how much would these two items cost? Accompanied to the gazebo is at no additional charge. The arrangement is US80.00

If anyone has a list they can share of songs the Steel Drum Band plays, I'd love to see it.  Also, I find it interesting that in the wedding packages (with the exception of the free package) accompaniment to the gazebo is listed almost like an added bonus but from the email above it's free with any package.  Just something to think about for any brides who are paying for their wedding packages...perhaps it's cheaper to go with the free package and just add on anything else you'd like to have...just a thought though.

gosh I don't envy you young ladies just starting out. I went back to school at age 35 to do the law clerk program and it was tough!!!  good luck to all of you! nursing is really difficult so you have my respect for sure.

I feel like we're at a standstill now. there isn't really anything to do at the moment and I hate wishing the time away because it means Xmas will be a month away when we come back - yikes!!!! Jan's sounds great for pricing. I hope our final pricing comes out that good!

we still aren't decided about the gazebo for the evening yet. I'd like to do it but the money I think is going to be an issue with the other half of this couple even with a small group. did anyone ever get a final answer - is it 15 p/hr per person or just 15 per person for the bartender?? can you definitely only have the gazebo for 2 hours? what's the latest time you can have it until??  if no one knows I'll call Chandlyn next week to ask, but just wondered if anyone checked into the details of it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
