In taking in some suggestions from ya'lls post.........I guess I need to take a step back and maybe be the better person and come up with somehow to talk to her. So, how could I go about doing it that it doesn't piss her off and/or makes things better without it being a tit for tat type of thing and nip it in the butt now. :)

    Thoughts?

That happened to one of my friends! Her FI's sister got engaged after them, booked their wedding 1 month before them at the SAME CHURCH they had already booked. Then she stole her wedding colors and several other ideas. Grrr. I would be sooo annoyed!

I like this idea. My girlfriend is getting married next year here at home and she is trying to steal my ideas too. I keep throwing her off the sent though and telling her things that I would never do.

If she is your close friend I would just talk to her about it and express your concerns. It may be that you have very similar taste, or it may be that after she looked at your book she racked her brain but everything she thought of she didnt like as much as what you'd written down...maybe she didnt think you'd care...there are a plethera of "what ifs" here and I know if it was me and this were my close friend, I'd tell her I was worried about our weddings looking the same and ask for her help in making sure that even if they're similar, they're not identical. Since they were your ideas to begin with, I'd like to think she'd be willing to compromise!!

          Good Luck!

My advice would be to have two visions of what you want and only tell her about your second choices.

I'd probably stop sharing the info.
Share your feelings on the situation with her and gauge her response.
Definitely be upfront, she may not realize it or it may just be unintentional similar taste like estella said.

I know I take a lot of ideas from people but then try to make them my own and give credit to the real owner (really one of the main reasons I'm on BDW). When someone takes my ideas I always try to look at it as a compliment. Weddings almost always look and feel the same anyways - ceremony, cocktail hour, reception. Just talk to your friend and I'm sure you guys will be able to work something out. Good luck!!

The other thing that might be going on is all of her bridesmaids live in another state, so she only has me and another friend to be here with her personally in her planning. Like many said "take it as a compliment" because she probably doesn't have the support system I have. :)

You should probably punch her in the face. If you are thinking of going with a less violent route, and if this is really bothering you then you should definitely talk to her. Maybe she doesn't realize that she just copied your whole wedding, or why it would bother you. She is probably wrapped up in all the copying of your planning that she didn't really stop and think about it! Just be upfront about it!

I wouldn't share any more information with her than you already have so that your weddings aren't identical. It's fun to plan weddings with your friends I have 2 other friends planning right now and 2 of us are doing DW, we do share information but there is some stuff that I just don't tell them. So if I were you I would keep any other ideas to yourself without discussion.
