Timberly - best of luck on your wedding if I don't message on here again this week - I have a very busy week at work coming up and I'm not looking forward to it. Post pics when you're back.

Susie - good for you for giving them a piece of your mind!!

Funny story about carrying the cigarette around. I worked with ALL smokers once and so I took non-smoking breaks.

GREAT idea about the bracelet!! I'm thinking I might have to change my mind about what I was going to get my mom.

Just got back from Florida - oh how I already miss the 87 degree weather. Although flew out on Wednesday when we had a huge storm and what usually takes 1 1/2 hours to get to the airport - took 4 and I missed my flight. Had to change airlines and it ended up taking me 13 hours to get from Toronto to Florida. What a horrible day. Still not sure I've caught up. Then my FI and I are sitting downstairs trying to catch up on some shows we taped while I was away and we hear this chewing noise...we have a guest in our basement ceiling. What the heck?? Seriously I've heard in the attic, but in the basement ceiling?

Good news!! While I was away my dress came in!!!!! So excited!!

Krista....woohoo for the dress! Mine is in too and I go for my fitting on Tuesday:) bunny_4.gif

Krista (stalkerwink.gif ) I think I read on another thread...the GBP one a bunch of stuff on docs. Something about having some of them translated and certified before you go down. My WC sent me the info I needed, so if you email yours, she should be able to tell you what you need. My TA also sent me the link to the Mexican Consulate here in Canada, but I can't find it! There was info on there too. Hope that helps!

Lisa...those bracelts sound like such a great idea!

Susie and Brooke...thanks for thinking of me! I would probably have been sleeping too if I was not here at work:)

kristahear-sorry am i a little slow?so what visitor did you have in your basement ceiling?congrats on the drss being in we need pics.

krista-for me as a british bride if i had,nt got the name i was born with then i just needed my birth certificate and any name changing documents.along with the other stuff you have already mentioned.all i can say is please dont worry about it i became obsessed with it and contacted the translation place a few times.when does your wc at the resort contact you is it 2mths before your wedding date?if so wait till she contacts you (or email her now)to double check.explain your situation and she will tell you what you need straight away.i just dont want you to listen to me because i was told it differs from resort to resort to?but you have plenty of time to sort it when wc contacts you to.or can the brides help you who have been to that resort before?

vdaybride, you are such a sweetie.i wish i could come id love to support you.

Sorry Shells guess I didn't explain it properly. And no holes for traps and cheese, our basement is totally finished.
Kristaheer.... You can go to your local hardware store and buy this little device that you plug into the electrical outlet that sends out some kind signal that keeps the little critters away.. their cheap like $24 and they work like a charm.

I am so excited for you gals getting your dresses... that just means you are getting so close to your big day... yippeeeeeee

Morning Shells... Yeah last night was great... we had dinner at a Chinese Buffet and the went to a Jazz bar... It was so much fun... The xmas dinner was actually a shwer for FI and I as well... We didn't know that going, they gave us this amazing gift of a two night stay in Niagara falls and spa package... we'll use it later in the spring when we need to escape. It was really sweet of them...

I am not sure if I ever told you the story of Mark and I? I worked with youth at risk for years and I helped kids find jobs in the trades... One of the companies I worked with to place these kids in employment was a treecare company... Most kids with attention and learning disabilities do very well working outside and climbing trees. This company is very family oriented and I got to know the owners very well over the years and they set Mark and I one day to meet. Mark is their manager... He runs the business for them because they are semi retired... Mark has worked for them since he was 19 and as gone from a tree climber to their manager.

At the party last night I was touched that they celebrated our upcoming wedding with the staff xmas party... There was about 40 people there and 11 of the staff I helped them find that job and they have grown so much over the years. This one kid was such a shit and was on such a bad path about 9 years when we met and he was trying to find a job that would keep him out of jail... I remember his mom and dad asking me to help them because he had court in a few weeks and the judge told him the last court appearence if he didn't have a job the next time he came to court he was going to jail. rambling here lol..... This kid is married now with two little girls... It was a very emotional night for me... So yeah it was a great night

Susie - what a rewarding job that would have been. I, on the other hand, am WAY too emotional and would bring it all home with me. Awesome that it was a little shower for you guys. And thanks for your advice on the plug-in. I've never heard of that before. I'm going to look into it tomorrow.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
