Does anyone have the pricing for the paper lanterns on rods from Deco Cancun?  I emailed them a couple of days ago and never got a response yet.  They look so nice on the deck of some of the brides reception pics!  I would love to get a list on pricing for EVERYTHING from them.

Also, I bought aqua sashes for the white chairs we are using at the Gazebo, Does anyone know if they use the same chairs for the reception or should I buy more sashes?  prayer1.gif

Did you hire a stylist to do hair and makeup?  I also have 8 bm's..trying to decide on the best option - I've seen pics from other brides and some of the updo's haven't survived much of the wind at the ceremony...was it worth it?  Do you remember the cost?

We were thinking of using DJ MANNIA for our reception...it seems DOREMIXX is very similar.  Did you price compare?  Was their a reason you picked DOREMIXX?

Regarding the large wedding party - we will not be doing our ceremony on the beach (unless we have to)..did somebody help you with where to put your 'maids, and groomsmen?  I'm worried about it being so big and not having an actual "rehearsal" we won't really know what to do..

Did you choose to have your cocktail hour on the beach or did it have to be there because of your reception location?  Were you happy with that?  I do worry about having anything on the beach just due to it not being comfortable...and sand getting EVERY WHERE.  Did you have any problems?

What is the location of your reception...LOVE IT!!  Also love the lighting..was that pricey?

Thank you SO much!!

Congrats on being a new beautiful wife!!!  cheesy.gif

Hi all sorry I have been trying to email bk on my droid and I wrote a full page and didnâ€t go thru twice!!  Anyway…  I appreciate all the nice things you all are saying!  I loved EVERY minute!!  As for the BEACH location..SO GREAT!!!  My guests loved it!!.

The reason we had cocktail hr on the beach near the reception is so that we could use the lounge furniture that we rented..  Such a great idea because our guests loved it!!!!!!!  I wouldnâ€t have changed location. You can have your cocktail hr pretty much anywhere you want.. desires lounge terrace where we had our welcome white party, or the Jacuzzi area. Or beach on the other side..

Hair and Makeup:

I had three of my friends that are hairstylists and makeup artists!  but my mom in law got her hair and makeup there and they did a great job!  Just bring extra hairspray!!! Lol

DJ: Use Doremixx he was great even with the issues..  we paid 550.00 cash for the dance floor and it was WELL WORTH IT!!!!!   My hubby was a bit surprised when he saw it because I forgot to cancel it when we found out the price 2 days before the wedding.. lol  to his surprise it was there!  HE even agreed it was the best investment. The kids loved it- even the ADULTS!!!

Lighting the two large lights were provided by the hotel (part of pkg)..  the dance floor helped……  the deco cancun bamboo with lanterns were I think 180.00  ( we would have got two more instead of the candles near our lounge furniture.

I can send anyone my deco cancun expense sheet. Just email me [email protected]

If I missed anything email me!!!!  For some reason I cant use my Droid on the site right now!! Our reception was on the POOL DECK!

Honeymoon was fantastic!! (Ladies we stayed at Secrets Maroma) we totally splurged and went for a honeymoon suite it was the most amazing room I have ever stayed in and we had it for some 9 days! Room 1722 at Secrets! It totally helped too, because on the day of the wedding I kicked out hubbie and him and 3 of his guys had lunch and hanged out / got ready at the spa (the resort was all booked) and I had my Mom, my Aunt, and 6 girls all get ready with me! Not to mention 2 photographers, 1 videographer, 2 make up artists, and 2 hair stylists!! So if it was a small room it would have been a mess! By the way Fernando did my makeup, he was great! I dont usually wear make up and to be honest had a hard time even recognizing myself, but he did a fantastic job on the eyes! I had fake eyelashes and there were AMAZING! Everyone except by Aunt had their make up done by Fernando and his second make up artist and everyone loved it!! and myself and all 6 girls got full updos!

Janine what excursion did you guys go on? that was so funny to bump into you like that at the spa! funny thing the lady forgot to do a top coat and my french manicure came right off within a day or two, they appologized and redid it 2/3 days after, it just wasnt as shiny on the day of the wedding but I doubt anyone could tell! ha ha!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
