  1. What cut is yours in the middle? Mine is princess cut, and maybe its the picture but yours looks like a fancy princess cut? ha ha otherwise our rings are identical! For the wedding band I went with an eternity band with a bit bigger diamonds than in the e-ring band to set them apart a bit. I love how they look together!
  2. I did 3 sessions back to back of bikini boot camp - not crazy in your face as some of the other ones, but I still saw some results. For me it was being outdoors and moving and then also because I was exercising more I felt bad about eating junk - so combined efforts resulted in some weight loss. Have fun!
  3. For fire dancers we went thru the resort, USD 800 for 4 dancers for 20 min. They were fine, but because we were running a bit late, we had planned to have them during dessert and we were still dancing when we were told to go sit down to watch. I was kinda bummed that they were interfering with our dancing at that time! ha ha! Just as a note, depending on which company you would like, for that amount you could get 4 to 6 dancers. We had DJ Doremixx locked down a fair bit in advance - he was fantastic! We had him for 5 hours. As he does work at other resorts, I would say book anything and everything you can with as much notice as possible. We had pashmina's for our mid November wedding and the ladies just loved them! Good luck!
  4. I got my dress at Cameo and Cufflinks - looooooved the service there! In terms of alterations I didnt have much, but many trips! I had pads added (I highly recommend going to an actual lingerie store and getting their pads, I found at Cameo and Cufflinks they were just pancakes, did nothing to lift) and then the dress had boning added at the seam and zipper and taken in and out and in again (ha ha!) and the alterations lady at C & C was great! (one of them was fantastic and the other a disaster... my first dress fitting really didnt go well, the pancakes! oh the pancakes! sent me on a crazy hunt for a corset, much money and effort spent later but then much better communication with the second lady at C & C and no corset, just better inserts and I was all set!

  7. Oh I see what you mean. No the staff left after 3 hours! Well maybe a bit after.. they did go around and take last drink requests then. The way I see it, after 3 hours, your guests can literarly walk 50 feet to the resort bar and get their own drink, people would have been drinking all night long with drinks still on the table etc. that I dont think it really inconvenienced anyone. The staff packed up the buffett but kept the cake and dessert set up, it was just fine for us.
  8. I emailed her - we dont have our pictures yet, likely in next 2 weeks or so and I am in no big rush for the album but she said that no she doesnt do them anymore. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
  9. we just paid the per hour posted rate, USD 300 and extedned our DJ time to 5 hours (we had to end it at 11 pm, as that is when the resorts quite hour kicks in). Havent seen the price list for 2011, but the 2010 just said USD 300 plus tax per hour for DJ min. 3 hours I believe. USD 2K per hour is just insane! so good luck with that one
  10. sorry I hate to mess with peoples plans - for me though we had our ceremony planned for 2 (we started a bit after) and dinner reception didnt start till 6 and I felt rushed. But maybe it just me. I think it also depends on what your expectation is, how much variety and locations you want... The only complete set of pictures we have is a splurge just because session with the resort photographer, if you like send me an email if youlike and I will let you to know how to view them - might give you an idea of what you can get in that 2 or so hours...
  11. I had our on the deck and loved it! Only downside, was that the day of our wedding was crazy windy, and so some of the decorations broke, and they didnt put out about 1/3 of the decor that I brought with me (still kinda irks me, cause it was hauled all the way to Canada, not used and then I never saw it again...) but anyway, the location itself with the blue infinity pool in the background I thought was just great.
  12. gorgeous flowers! I got real flowers, but I must say these days some of the real touch bouques dont look any different than the real thing, and maybe even better cause you know exactly what you are going to get and you will always have it as a keep sake!
  13. Hi I would say definitely check what the sunset times are! We got married in November 19th (and my birthday is May 19th so you picked a great day!) anyhow, sunset time was roughly 5:15 so I was hoping for 3. We were only able to do it at 2, but we started late as well, some 15 or 20 minutes I believe and were go go go before run out of light, but we also did have to spend some considerable time with family pics which you wont have to. Most photographers I believe will say that it is the 30 min. before and 30 min. after sunset that is the golden hour. On the SMB side of Mexico however sun sets very quick (you will not see the traditional sunset, it will just get dark) for the beautiful glow of the sun, you have to wake up to see the sun rise on the SMB side.. In any case I would figure out the sunset time on your day first off (I had a link somewhere not sure where it is now to sunset times, let me know if you cant locate it yourself quickly) and go backwards from there in terms of how much time your ceremony will be, account for things running late, and then how much photography you want. Hope that sorta helps
  14. No worries. If you only have 2 hours though you do sorta have to rush there... for us we stopped by the boats, then there is a wooden structure, then a cuddle on the beach...so it all depends too on how many pics you are taking while walking. On that note... we feel really blessed in that we were able to have a very long photo session on our wedding day (4 photo shoots in total!!), but still felt very rushed! The resort photographer although in my opinion very cookie cutter! with a nice camera can get that one or two shots that you wanted in case you feel like you run out of time - as we felt. We actually ended up getting 36 from the resort photographer - ha ha! We just went in our regular clothes and walked along the beach, went into the water, checked out that wooden structure (its half way between the hacienda and edge of the beach, as you walk by you will know what I am referring to), hacienda, etc... It was just a gorgous afternoon so we did 3 to 5:30 (I am told we took twice as long as most sessions, but I dont think they minded as we got 36 pics). But just to kinda give you an idea of time.
  15. Only used the salon to get French Nail the day before. They were average. Had to be redone in 2/3 days. I was at the spa with my Mom and wasnt really paying attention, silly me for relaxing, and they must have missed a top coat. Anyway figure you cant see the difference in pics anyway. They redid them for free and they were quite nice the second time! I say with every service just be watching them. As an aside, the spa is quite beautiful! DH and myself got spend half a day at the resort after checking out, so we hanged out there, very nice. Enjoy your big day! Fernando and his team did my hair and make up. He did an amazing job on the make up that included fake eyelashes.
  16. Hi ladies hope the get together went well. We have been back for about 2 weeks now I guess and slowly the pics are trickling in, will be a while before I get cd's of all the images so I can pick and choose and will post them on here. I checked out the pictures from the link above, I love the dress! so flowy and elegant! My dress was a strapless dress as well, with a bit of a lower back, to make sure the top didnt dip the bridal salon added boning along the seam on the side and along the zipper in the back, well within 1,2 hours it was sticking out and digging in all sorts of places... looking at this dress I just kinda wish I didnt even bother with the boning.... just my two cents. Night.
  17. bit dirty, not big dirty, sorry its past midnight and there is no edit button
  18. The walk to the hacienda takes all of 5 min. There are two interesting abondoned boats on the way as well and a neat wooden structure. Our wedding day and TTD pics are just filtering in... will post eventually but it will take time. If you are standing at the beach facing the ocean walk right to get to the hacienda. Its beautiful!! Yes it is a big dirty, but we did go barefoot and sat and lay on the ground for a couple of the shots, it provides a stunning back ground. Have fun!
  19. Fernando Fuentes contact info: [email protected] cell: 998n 120 6472 I have the pricing structure somewhere but if I recall USD 330 for hair and make up on the day, and USD 180 or so for a trial of both. I sent his sister or cousin in Chicago the cheque for the deposit.
