October 2010 Brides?

Wendy- Both dress are so different, but really cute! At least you get to wear both of them. Are you wearing one for the AHR?

Hi Lori! Ha, we have 2 months and I have a hundred things to do that I have been putting off and now I really need to start doing them.

The RSVP is so frustrating. We had 16 people reply back yes, but only 11 booked. I think one couple isn't going to book at all and I wish they would come out and say it. I even sent them an email just to catch up (didn't mention the wedding at all) and I am being ignored. I have already been working on the OOT bags and favors, but we only have a difference of 5 people, not 20. Since your RSVP date pasted you can try and call some of the 20 people and see if they are going to go.

Hi Everyone!  We leave in 7 weeks and I'm in the same boat as all of you.  I'm working down the to-do list pretty quickly and don't feel too stressed out yet.  I'm mailing out the pre-travel brochures and luggage tags next week.  The OOT bags are almost done, they just need to be assembled and then we are going to deliver them to all of the local guests a week before we leave.  It was too much of a hassle to get everything down there.  My dress fitting is next week and my shoes came in yesterday and they are sooo cute.  The only things left to do are - write the ceremony script, apply for a marriage license and the bachelorette party is the 18th! Of course I still need to go shopping for cute clothes for the honeymoon since we are going to Europe for 2 weeks after the wedding in Cabo.  It's going to be a crazy time.

Lori,

If your RSVP date has already passed then you have every right to call or email those that are on the fence to get a final answer.  We only had a few people that were doing that to us and I just told them that the resort needed to know by the end of August and after that we couldn't add people.  They made up their minds real quick after that.  Also, we have the same wedding date - 10/10/10.  We will be at the Pueblo Bonito Rose in Cabo.  :)

Hey there!! Nice to meet you!!

We are wedding day twins!!! Whewww Whooooo!!!!!

I made OOT bags but went off the number of people who booked. I'm sure there will be more later but I have prepared my speech: (clearing throat) Umm hmmm, "Yes, I'm so sorry you don't get a bag. See, I had to plan to put them in the guest rooms with the hotel a week after my RSVP date organized by room number. I'm so sorry but the hotel had to have it by room number so if they didn't have your number by our predeterming RSVP date, there was nothing I could do. These resorts sure are strict with their due dates. I'm sorry but I didn't want to risk messing it up for everyone who DID rsvp on time. I even took an extra week after the date. My apologies." LOL

Can't wait for my Bachelorette party either! Happening over Labor Day weekend!!!

Just wanted to re-introduce myself. Getting married at Dreams Los Cabos on Oct 10th.

My current frustration is that we gave Aug 5th as an RSVP deadline and like noone sent back the RSVP cards. It's really not that hard all they had to do was check a box and throw it in the mail. Seriously. And lots of people keep telling us they are still trying to figure out if they can come and won't know until later. It's 6 weeks away!! And since it's so many people still trying to make arrangements it is harder to plan. I don't know if I'm having 35 guests (the amount currently booked) or 55. Anyone still not sure how many guests they are having?

I wanted to do OOT bags but I don't even feel like ordering stuff if I don't know how many people we are having.

Mostly I am just really excited about my bachelorette weekend in Vegas next weekend and don't feel like dealing with wedding stuff!

I am sorry to hear about your guests. I have few like that but I gave up on counting them to show. I am moving on... we are way too close to the date to worry about things like that.

I am also 10-10-10 bride at Azul Sensatori in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I am going back to my home town Philadelphia for my bachelorette party on the labor day weekend. I am sooo excited to see all my friends :)

So question... what are you guys doing for the guest book? do you even worry about it? i am debating on what to do with that. we have about 30 guests and just wondering if worth the hassle. what are you guys doing?

Tameka, love the chap stick, great outcome.  I wouldn't worry about pushing the AHR back to the spring, I'm stressing mine which is 8 days after we return.  On top of that its planned for our home/yard with large tents (which have already been delivered, just worring about the weather, could be cold or hot or rainy... rainy is my biggest fear, cold or hot can be dealt with...fans or heaters but not sure about rain).  Shockingly, my AHR invites have already reached guests in town, I took them to the post office yesterday afternoon, had dinner with friends/neighbors who were very excited about it.

Chong, I'm not doing a guest book but we only have 6 guests so far.  For 30 guests, you could get post cards at the resort and have everyone sign post cards to you, keep in a photo album afterwards.

Welcome Lo and StephiePoo.!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
