I'm on 10-10-10 at the Rosewood Mayakoba - we just signed our contract like 2 weeks ago. I did a video for our save the dates rather than email cards since most people knew the date and place but needed accomodations info. (feel free to check out! Save the date | 10.10.10)

for all you mexico brides - are you nervous about october being hurricane season?
HI Eunice, I LOVE YOUR STD video, what a great idea! I too am getting married on 10.10.10 in Playa del Carmen...I am not worried about the weather, bc I have no control over it, in Mexico or the states, so I am just going to cross my finger for ALL of us! wink.gif

Jo – You seem to be on top of things. I never even thought of having my shoes made. Thanks for idea. I have a picture of what I want my shoes to be, but I canâ€t find them.

My venue is already booked.

We will be sending out invites by the end of the month. I wanted to send them out in February but FI thinks its too early so we agreed to the end of March so I am procrastinating on putting them together until after we move into our new house next week.

We have 4 people booked, but itâ€s my parents and my brother and his girlfriend.

I donâ€t know about my flowers, the centerpieces (flowers in a short clear vase is as far as I got), or the cake.

I already have my dress. I got it a Davidâ€s Bridal. I wonâ€t get alterations or the bustle made till the beginning of the summer. I am hoping to lose 18lbs before I have it altered, otherwise I donâ€t need it taken in or up. I also have my veil (Iâ€m actually wearing two, a cathedral length and one that goes to me fingers with gold embroidery on it like my dress). I still need shoes and jewelry.

My FI is wearing a light tan suit and we will get that in early summer too.

No BM or GM.

I actually just picked a photographer. We have 72 photos included in our wedding package with the resort and my WC sent us pictures from 4 photographers and I just picked one last night.

Our wedding package also includes a video of our ceremony. I think if this wasnâ€t included I would have wanted it anyway. I always wanted a wedding video.

Everything else really depends on the amount of people we will have in Aruba.

Okay so we have finally decided on and booked our photographer. We are bringing one from home and she will be there to take pictures for us for the whole week. I am so excited!! People are also starting to book. I get so excited every afternoon when I get an email from the travel agent telling me who booked that day. I am also taking my bms dress shopping for their dresses this Saturday. Finally, I am checking things off the to do list and it feels great!

sisofbride, she is doing well, thanks for asking. She is undergoing chemo right now but she is responding well. By my wedding, she should be back to going to school and only going for treatment one day a week. My bf and her husband are even planning to come to the wedding now if everything stays on track. Your prayers are certainly appreciated. Thank you.

  • 4 weeks later...

avong1228, did you send save the dates? If so, you are fine. People obviously know about your wedding as you have so many people booked. We are just ordering our invites now and they won't be in for 4-6 weeks, so ours will not go out until almost June as well. I am not really concerned about it. The invites for us are really just a formality as after the save the dates, pretty much everyone who is planning to come has already booked. However, the save the date said formal invite to follow so I feel compelled to send them out, plus I know the parents want them as keepsakes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
