Ok so getting to this thread a little later than most, but I too am getting married in October (10/16/10) at El Dorado Royal. We have the resort booked, as well as about half of our guests booked. Now I have left are the things I have been putting off forever like the flowers and OOT bags!

that was my second date choice. My FI is british so he wanted to write the date as 20.10.2010 In the end I won with October 21 (it was my grandma's birthday- how could you argue with that!)

Tanya, do you think the bags you ordered from OTC would fit 2 mugs and a bunch of other OOT crap inside? I think I want to do only one bag per room. One room actually has 3 ppl staying too so would 3 mugs be pushing it? The pic looks relatively large but the dimentions dont sound that big... hmmm?

Hi Aly,

YES, I actually took some from the bottom of the bag bc it was too big...I have 2 sports bottles, pashminas for the ladies, and a bunch of MISC crap...so Yes I def think that they will be big enough, I too am only doing 1 per room. Just make sure that you order the "large" bags.

Hi. I am getting married on 10-10-10 at Azul Sensatori Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico!!! I am sooo glad to find the October 2010 Wedding Forum. I thought it didn't exist. I have been on this forum for couple months and it's been great! I am excited to read all the posts (it might be a late night with a glass of wine).

HORAY for 10-10-10 couples!!!

Aly,
That is so funny. My FI says the same thing... "are you on that thing again?" I am pretty much to attached to my laptop all night looking for things..

So here what I have done so far for my OOT...
I got beach towels with embroidery (HOT pepper holding maracas with the text "Riviera Maya, Mexico 10-10-10"). We didn't want to put our names or wedding related stuff since we wanted for them to use the towels. It was bit pricey but we really wanted to thank our guests for coming to our destination wedding. I thought about buying a beach tote but it is too expensive with the towels... I have found wonderful reusable grocery bag from Whole Foods for 99c. I am so excited.

I will be also including a CD mailer envelope with our home address and postage included to get all of our friends' pics back! And of course, Thank you card for coming to the wedding. I didn't want to include something that everyone can throw away afterward.

We are planning to give this out on the day before the wedding. I am not doing "rehearsal dinner" since it will cost me extra for food when we are at the ALL INCLUSIVE resort. There are plenty of places to meet and we can get to the restaurant early to sit near each other. Nobody really sits with EVERYONE at dinner anyway. I am also planning to take advantage of all the activities the resort is offering. Haven't figure out how to write everything to communicate but I am working on it...

wow.. that is all I have for OOT.

Chong - thanks for the welcoming messages!

LOL! Same here! He makes fun of me! But you ladies all share my excitement. My friends do not want to constantly hear about my upcoming wedding. Yay for October 2010's!!! :) Oh, and wine!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
