Do you think it would be okay not to have STD's? I was planning to just mail out my invitations super early (like a year in advance). Any advice would be great!

I guess if you're planning to mail your invitations that early, then no you wouldn't have to have STDs. I didn't have as much time as you do between our engagement and our wedding date, so I sent STDs early (before we had even picked out our invitations). Good luck!

I had noooo time for STD lol. I sent my invitations 4.5mths before the wedding!! Guests were not too pleased with the notice, and I say OH WELL to that! It is your preference as it is your wedding.

If you have ALL of your information already -- I guess you don't need Save-The-Dates....

In my case, when our Save-The-Dates went out we were thought we were getting married in Early February. At the end of the day we were married in January at a resort we hadn't even considered.

In our case we couldn't get pricing until much later, but DH wanted to give everyone a year to PLAN to go .... somewhere for our wedding.

If you have a TA, prices, location and date... I don't see why you'd need a Save-The-Date.

          I hope this helps.

We didn't bother with STD's. We sent out our invitations super early. End of April for our January wedding. We had been to see the TA and had booked some rooms so we had all the information so we didn't feel we needed STD's. Hope this helps.

We had to move up our initially planned wedding date 6 months earlier so we had no time for STDs. We got our invites out 4 months before the wedding, and still had a pretty good guest turnout because we had already informally notified people that we were doing a destination wedding

I am still doing STD's which should be there when I get home this evening and doing invites..but I hadn't planned on mailing mine out until January of next year even though I have picked them out already....

If you are gonna do your invites early then u shouldn't need any...

I am also thinking about skipping on the STD and just sending out the invites a year early.  One concern my fiance is having is if people will get the invite and just stick it up on the fridge and procrastinate booking.  Do you think you need the invite closer to the date to act as a reminder to the procrastinators of the world?
