I hope you don't decide to lose weight because of a dress and especially not because your FI is in a way bribing you. I've always struggled with my weight and it's finally come to me realizing that I want to be healthy and full of life and energy, especially when we decide to start a family. Good luck with your dress and your weight loss, just don't drive yourself nuts over how a dress would look if you were thinner. I suggest you find what you love and feel good in now...that way it can be ordered and if you lose, it will be altered. And if not, it will fit like it does now. Did you order your dresses new or used on Ebay? That can be a deciding factor. And did you try them on first before ordering? You'd be surprised what looks good, try something unexpected. So many brides on the forum think they know what they want and then try something totally different and fall in love with their gown. Let me know what happens
I didn't try the dress on before I bought them. They were samples from a store who was no longer going to sell the designers. I've tried on around 200 dresses (literally) and have tried ALL kinds so I definitely know what looks good on me. My fear is that some dresses can't be altered that much because of the detail on them. I want to at least lose SOME weight before picking one. Worst case scenario I'll just have to buy one from another bride or online again, neither of which really bother me that much.
