Legal day tomorrow but no ring :(

Recommended Posts

Our legal day is tomorrow! Wahoo! I'm excited and a little nervous. FI and I were discussing it last night and agree that it's the type of feeling you get before you do something fun and new for the first time. I can't wait.

I'm a little bummed out because I don't have my ring. We went to Colorado last weekend for my bridal shower. Our jeweler is there so my little bro picked up my wedding band so that I could try it on to make sure it fit and everything. Well it turns out that the jeweler wanted to give us a good deal so he used diamonds from another ring in my band. It was very pretty but it was obviously more narrow than my engagement ring and definitely didn't look like a set. I was a little disappointed but could have lived with it. FI on the other hand was mad. He said there was no way we were keeping it. In order to make sure the wedding band matches up with the engagement band, I had to leave them both in Colorado. It sucks that I won't be wearing either ring tomorrow but probably won't be the end of there world.

I was wondering what you guys wore to your legal days. I know Andi wore a cute little white dress, but she was in Vegas. I'm going to be at a rundown courthouse in San Jose. I do want to look nice and wear something fun; I'm just not sure what. Any suggestions?

Thanks for listening!

Bo

Congrats on your legal day!! Your wedding's right around the corner!! How about wearing a cute white sundress? I don't know how tall you are, but maxi dresses (those that go all the way to the floor) are pretty "in" right now, and they can look sexy without looking too cheap. Plus, they're super comfy. I've seen lots of whites and lighter colored pastels this season in stores. Or, what are your wedding accent colors? A pretty sundress that coordinates with your colors could be cute...plus you could wear it again on your honeymoon:) You could always throw a pretty flower in your hair to add a tropical feel to your attire. Good luck!

Here's some pictures from our legal day...Had to wear a jacket sad.gif

I don't have my band yet either...I'm saving it for the symbolic ceremony since a lot of people don't know we actually tied the know yet.

awww man that sucks about the ring....i am sure it will come back though just the way you really want it!

you know what you could do...just for fun (since tomorrow is not your "real" wedding anyway) is go find the the most tacky cheap ring you can and wear that! rofl.gif that would be fun...can you imagine wearing like a cheap, awful, huge, gaudy thing?! Just a thought wink.gif it would be a good story later!

as far as outfits...maybe like a cute pants suit type outfit...business casual something or other? or a cute summer dress? that would be fun too!

Make sure you post some pics tomorrow! GOOD LUCK!

I agree...check out some maxi dresses. Seems like almost everywhere has them, from Old Navy to Gordman's, even stores like J.C. Penney and Walmart.

Somethin simple, but spring-like and beautiful..you'll look great and they are so perfect for occasions like this. Even just a nice, flowing sundress. I'm sure you'll find something you like.

And congratulations!! You've gotta be so excited!

I think it's ok that you don't have your ring. I'm not sure if your wedding is a "secret" but it would kinda suck putting it on then having to take it off. The best thing about putting the wedding ring on is knowing that it stays there- forever! I didn't use a ring to get married- it's not big deal. Just tell them before hand that you aren't exchanging rings and they can easily cut that out.

Or you could do some fake ring like Andi suggested. That would be cute too.

I wore jeans and a top for my legal day. We didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Plus we got married in a vegas drive thru sooo....yeah. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
