I'm spending between $15-$20/bag for a couple, and about $10-$15 for a single. The bags themselves are $1 (Dollar Tree), personalized travel mugs ($4.50), hand sanitizer (3/$1), Reed Diffusers ($2.50), First Aid Kits ($1), Emergen-C Packets, Natural Meds, Zip Lock Badge Holder and Lanyards.  I also ordered postcards from Vista print to tie to each of them and I'll also get some trifold brochures made with helpful info that I'll also put inside.  The dollar store is your best friend for these bags!

We had a total of 45 people at the wedding in St. Thomas and that equated to 25 bags total.  We spent around $30 per bag and here is what was in them:

~The bag was actually a reusable grocery bag that folded up quite small for traveling purposes and most of our guests ended up using them as beach bags while they were down there (which is what I was hoping for)!!!  We had 2 colors, blue and orange (our wedding colors);

~Towels in orange and blue with a ribbon wrapped around it in the opposite color;

~A Mix CD with our favorite songs;

~Sunscreen with a personalized sticker with "Enjoy Your Stay, Amy & Greg, St. Thomas, 2-25-2011";

~SPF Chapstick;

~Water bottles;

~Snacks;

~A "St. Thomas Survival Kit" that included Advil, Pepto, Propel powder, mints, and antibacterial hand wipes;

~An itinerary of events;

~A welcome letter personalized to each guest;

~And since we were getting married on St. Thomas, we bought mini bottles of rum (Cruzan which is made on St. Croix) and Spices from the St. John Spice Company.  This would have been what we gave as a favor, but we put it in the bag instead and didn't do favors at the actual reception.

You can also check out Parrot Canvas Company. I ordered canvas bags for $16.50 they are really cute. I've been buying my welcome bag items for about a year and my wedding is in October. So far I have flip flops, sunscreen, toothpaste, toothbrush (I always forget mine and have to buy one when I get to my destination) dental floss, post cards, welcome letter and I would love to include monogram towels but I'm not sure yet.

I love this bag suggested by melissa 7821! Check it out:

That's perfect. I wanted a bag that would close, but not too expensive. The small ones are only $2.49!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
