Does anyone know what is the deal with the renovated (blue decor) deluxe garden view rooms versus the (brown) older decorated rooms? Are they different at all? I think I read that the older decor (brown)

has a bath tub in the bathroom and the newer (blue) only have a shower...does anyone know?

I was also wondering which blocks already had the blue renovated rooms...

I would love if anyone that has already been there could share their room pictures...i tried looking up online but I am a little confused right now...

Thanks ladies!!!

I am doing OOT bags - I chose tote bags instead of paper bags because I thought people might be able to use them for beach bags while they are there.  I am putting the usual stuff in them:  first aid kit, personalized cup, wipes for cleaning sunglasses, towel, welcome letter, itinerary, hand sanitizer, mini sunscreen.  I was also thinking of adding a room spray from bath and body works (they are small) and "solemates" for the ladies (covers for high heels so they don't sink in the grass...since our ceremony is at the gazebo!)

I wanted stuff that could be used while we are down there so not everything from the bag has to be packed back home in their suitcases.

I haven't been there yet, but I emailed the resort to ask about this a while ago and they suggested that you request a newly renovated room at check in because the message doesn't always get there if you ask your travel agent to request it for you.  From what I understand the building blocks with higher numbers are more likely to have the renovated rooms (building 4, 5 etc), apparently Building 3 has more of the older rooms but I could be wrong!

Hope this helps!

Dressa,

The pictures of the rooms can be found here: http://www.dreamsresorts.com/drelr/guest-rooms.html

Renovated rooms are located in buildings 2, 4, 5 and 7 from what I last heard.  Buildings 5 and 7 are part of the preferred club that comes with additional amenities and it costs more to stay in the preferred club.

I stayed at the resort 3 times and always in a non-renovated room and never had a problem.  Bathroom was always nice with marble counterops and newer fixtures and I didn't think that the decor was outdated, though there were other opinions stated earlier in the thread.  I am going again in late May and will see which building I am placed at and will take some pictures at that time.

I don't think that you can request a specific building ahead of time, but you might be able to negotiate at check-in.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I just got married at Dreams La Romana on Wednesday, and I am beyond happy that I didn't go with the onsite photographer. I used Karina Jensen, she has a website, and my pictures turned out amazing for less that half the cost. I got the 50 prints from the resort photographer, and they were printed on cheap paper, which made them very poor quality. I asked about getting a CD of just those 50 prints and they told me it would be $200 US! I told them to forget it and have not shown anyone those pics since, cause the quality is so horrible. Go with Karina Jensen, she took over 700 pictures for us, and they are so beautiful!! And her prices are great also!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
