Does anyone know if it is cheaper for us to go with a TA or booking it on our own??

It really all depends on the TA.

My guests and I got some really good deals through my TA. My suggestion to you would be to do some comparison shopping before you book! That's what I did.

 

FYI: Most people don't know but AA has wedding travel packages. Give them a try as well.

Even if you find a cheaper rate by booking yourself, more than likely, a good TA will be able to match and sometimes beat that price. And it helps to have a TA when coordinating a large group of people on the same flight! IMO

From my experience, if you have a good TA, it makes it so much less stressful than having to be responsible for a whole group when it comes to sorting travel arrangements. I only have 13 guests, flights from different parts of the country, late bookers, a lot of 1st time flyers and questions...so it is nice when I can say our TA would have the best answer. One less thing for me to worry about.

TA less stress for the bride. All the silly questions by family will drive u up the walls. Also remember you still have to book taxi from the airport.

I just wanted to add to this that it depends on who you book with if you need a taxi or not. Many Canadian companies like Sunwing, Nolitours, TMR, etc will include transfer to/from the resort in their prices. It is always best to ask though.

Definately TA. They deal with all the transfers, insurance, deadlines, group booking details. Not all TA's charge a fee for their service.

 

I researched www.westjetvacations.com and Air Canada Vacations first. I did not see an AI package for a specific locations. TA called airline to confirm it's available. For some reason it just didn't appear online and instead had to be booked by phone.

Does anyone has a better idea of what airport to choose? Someone told me that LA ROMANA airport is much better than the one in PUNTA CANA, and that the La Romana airport is not far away from Punta Cana?

 

Any info will be highly appreciated.
