Ladies, this is an email I received from Janielle. I am a little upset because I thought we did not have to pay for Rashel or a florist. And I thought the package stated you could get a white or red rose bouquet.  What did you guys think about this?

Below are her responses in blue.

Hey Janielle,

Sorry, for some reason I thought make-up was included in the package. I will be using Rashel Edwards to do my makeup. I've been told she has visited the proeperty a lot. I was also told because she is just coming and not eating that there is no fee for her. Is this correct? Unfortunately she will not, the discounted rate of US$100 will apply

Also, Nicole at the Suites property is telling her brides that if the florist does not stay and eat and just drops off the flowers then they do not have to pay the vendor fee. I understand paying the fee for the DJ because he will be staying for a couple of hours but not the florist who is just dropping off flowers. Can you please clarify this.  This only applies to Tai Flora the florist that we recommend.

Sorry, the last part in the other email was a little confusing. I was just saying that because I am still paying for the package and cant get a partial credit that I would still like Tai flora to provide: 1 white rose bouquet and some boutineers. Hope this is clearler.  Only a tropical bouquet and boutonnière is included in the package. Anything else is considered an upgrade and will attract an additional cost.

Thanks for sharing that e-mail. I can't believe they charge for outside vendors when they aren't attending the wedding or using the facility!

Does anyone happen to know if a catamaran is included with your stay at the Grand? The Iberostar website says it is included on the sports and activities page but I haven't heard any other brides discuss this so I'm just curious. If it's not included, does anyone have any recommendations on renting out a catamaran? I want to offer my guests the opportunity to do a sunset/booze cruise on a catamaran and maybe go snorkeling or to margaritaville.

12 days and counting for me and still so much to do!!  I am having the hardest time reaching Janielle and Jodi for questions!  Anyone else having problems?!! I have pressing questions that need to be answered!!  Anywhoo, is anyone planning on using the make-up service provided by the Grand?  I was planning on using them to do myself and my bridesmaids since I do not want to pay to get a pass for Rishel. Have anyone seen their work?  This is one of the pressing questions that have gone unanswered :/

I feel like Iberostar is taking TOTAL advantage of the situation. I for one am so aggravated with the LACK of customer service! It totally blows! Im cool with island time...but weeks for someone to get back to you and then ALL the extras! It's insanse.

I think if I could do it all over again, I would have just stayed home and had my wedding.

Okay Im back from being a Bridezilla! fart.gif

Ladies- for those of you that are going with one of the gala selections for your reception meal, were you able to substitute items? Same questions for the ladies who are choosing the buffet.

For those who had a bonfire, could you tell me what you did for food?

Thanks,

Hi,

I am using Godfrey as well for my July 1, 2012 wedding. He responds to all emails promptly as the time. I am also using Marcia Roberts for the photography and video. Her prices are amazing and she is super nice. You should contact her.

Hey Tropical Love!

Here is an idea if you still cant get anywhere with the wedding coordinator, as I am experiencing the same lack of response. I went to my travel agent and expressed my concerns, she said to leave my questions with her.....since then I have got back responses within a day. I even had my travel agent look into getting the free wedding package as, Janielle told me I could not change my packages......My travel agent kicked some butt and now I am changing my wedding package to the free one!!

Wish I could help with your questions but I am in the same position.......

Good Luck!

Good Luck!!! Don't sweat the small stuff and when you walk into the Grand you will feel like you stepped into a small slice of heaven (or should I say Grand slice, haha)! Let us know how it goes... I will be thinking about you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
