    Hello ladies,

I saw a Madeline Gardner Morissette a few years ago on SYTTD and cannot get the tiered look out of my head.  I've found the trumpet or fitted a-line styles to look best on me. I have a dress picked out at David's Bridal, which I really like, but not "love"... these tiered styles etched in my brain (the tiered DB is okay but lacks a certain femininity). Unfortunately, I'm not having luck in the local bridal salons finding something close to what I have in my head. I cannot afford to spend $900+ on dress just to see what it looks like, but I can spend $200 or so :)

I've been searching the few replica/overseas sites mentioned here, weddingbee and projectwedding. I think I've narrowed it down to two dresses, I'm leaning towards #2. I am unsure of the actual designers and would love to know them if anyone recognizes them:
    1. http://www.inwedding...tyle-bc173.html
    2. http://www.inwedding...tyle-bc397.html

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for which site might handle the tiered or the lace-tiered best? How about the best fabrics I should request pricing for, for either dress. I noted some "speciality" reviews from PrettyPigPig (post #2005, pg 201 ;), as well as those from other message boards.

    • Babyonline ---> Simple dress and not too much of beadings and laces, limited budget
    • Monica Bridal ---> Complicated dress with a lot of laces and beadings and you want to fully customized..and don't wanna pay too much
    • Topspartner ---> Nice replicas of Maggie and Pronovias dresses..etc with a lot of bones, nice lace and embroidery with minimum customization and willing to pay more
    • Dressily Me - ?
    • Jeff Liu - ?
    • Inweddingdress.com - since this is the site I found both of them on.

Thank you for ANY info you can give me. And I'm sorry I typed half a novel in here.

    Jen

BTW- I'm so happy I stumbled on to this thread. Thank you for keeping it going for those of us who just started the Great Dress Adventure.

NHKinNegril your dress is gorgeous!  Where did you get it? The dress I am looking at has a tulle overlay and I think they did a great job.

Oh Oh..I am sorry.  Jenni, I saw your dress in 2009, in a local shop when I was dress shopping with my friend.  I saw it on a sample sale rack, I guess it must be a discontinued dress from their 2007 collection.

I saw your dress in real life in a local bridal shop, it looks my grannie's dress (no offense, but grannie's wedding dress is very similar, except for the low cut at the front).  The lace is a very delicate one, and pretty unique.  I am sure you will be disappointed if u want the same lace.  Just try to find a sample or a second hand dress.

          Joanne,

You can find all these info on this thread, just read the past posts.

Monica Bridal and Babyonline are dhgate sellers, so you can contact them via dhgate.

Landy is the seller who take half as deposit, and then full payment when you are happy with the finish product.

I have two questions I am hoping you can answer :

          1) Do you have the websites and/or email addresses to the main vendors you girls have used (landy, monica, etc ....)

          and

          2) I thought I read on here that some of these vendors accept a deposit and then send you pictures and if you are not happy you can cancel. Is that true?

Thanks so much and happy planning!

Hey ladies, I've been watching this thread for nearly 3 months now, trying to decide the best approach to take in getting my dress.  My wedding is next year, so I have some time to look-- lucky me.  The most important feature of my dream dress is laceee, so I have been trying to research which company has the best quality.   I am nervous order off a site because while I know I won't be getting the designer product, I still have certain expectations for my lace.

These are basically the styles I like, which include different types, and was wondering whether anyone has ordered a lace dress and if so, which type of lace has been most successfully knocked off- and from which sites--

I know I'm going to order a knock off, since my budget is so limited-- the question is where..

Thanks for anyone who can help!

Trimming down my post from yesterday (lordy i'm long winded)...

I think I've narrowed it down to two dresses. I'm leaning towards #1, the lace tiered dress. I've been hunting for the actual designers and would love to know them if anyone recognizes them:
              Lace Tiered Dress
              1. http://www.inwedding...tyle-bc397.html

              Tiered Dress
              2. http://www.inwedding...tyle-bc173.html

Based on this thread and others, I think one of these might be the best vendor to use:

Monica Bridal, Topspartner, Dressily Me,and Jeff Liu.

Anyone have an suggestions to which site might handle the lace tiered or the tiered detailing best?  Or which type of fabric I should request a quote for?

Thank you again, you ladies ROCK!!

Thanks! I ordered mine from inweddingdress, the dress style is DE035 http://www.inwedding...tyle-de035.html

I trimmed of the small bits of the tiered skirt that had started to fray (mere millimeters, not a lot) and coated the ends in clear nail polish to keep it from fraying. It seems that most of the skirt was treated to prevent fraying, but some small portions were missed. Now, with my nail polish fix, it's perfect and you cannot tell at all.

I LOVE this dress! When I put it on I feel so light and airy with that gorgeous flowing skirt. I can't stop looking at it!

I love both of your choices and from my experience, the gowns i ordered from inweddingdress.com had good quality of fabric.  The doulble lining under my chiffon dress and stitching was wonderful.  My seamtress was impressed that I ordered it online.  The ONLY suggestion in reguards to inweddingdress is to take you measurement by a seamstress and then order a standard sized dress that fits the largest body measurement.  For instance I went up in size because my hips and waist are not propotionate ...I'm definitely hour glass shaped....so i went with the size to fit hips.  Dress came in no problems and I had it altered which was like 45 dollars.  My mothers dresses were custom orders and we sent in the measurements and hers did not turn out as well as mine!!!  They should have been a perfect fit but the hem line was uneven and the side seams had areas of where fabric was bunchedup. SO we were upset but my seamstress was able to fix everything.  It was just the principle we paid extra for custom fit and still needed alterations.  So I know this is long winded but I hope it was helpful.  But this was MY experience.

                      Jen,

Thank you for posting the pics of these dresses! I have been trying to find a dress that I love and I think I just fell in love with the second dress! :)

Less is More, how long did it take for you to get the dress? Did they send you pictures during the process?
