I am trying to find someone to make this dress for me.  Please help! :)  Any suggestions of the best knock-off place would be much appreciated!

      TSBRIDE,

I think more detailed pics to see other sides of the dress will be helpful to any dressmaker.  From what I see, it isn't a difficult to replicate.

PrettyPigPig, do you have a dressmaker you would recommend?  Here are a few more pics:

hmm...I don't think the drapes and folds can be replicate 100%. Who is the designer?

However, If you already try the original dress, u may get disappointed.  Maybe you can get it during a sample sale.

That is what I am afraid of!  The designer is Romona Keveza, which unfortunately I think will be out of my price range even as a sample. Do you think this is a hopeless cause for me or should I try my luck?

Not really special, but it is just that my wedding dress has a lace and tulle catheral train and I will have a beach reception, so I just don't want to catch any turtle and fish! hahaha  it is just easier with a shorter dress, and I will probably wear this one for my at home dinner party.

Hahaaha! I envisioned you with fish and turtles caught in your tulle cathedral train!! You could grill them and have them as snacks!! LOL

I haven´t organized anything for my home dinner party yet.  It seems to me that you´ve got everything under control. Things for me are a bit on the still side. Not much moving, At the beginning I was going nuts but right now I´m a bit more relaxed. I have given my down payment, but Lots of the people who said were coming haven´t booked so I have to wait....

This is a lovely dress. I think a good dressmaker would be able to get it right for you!  Good luck!

                  TSBride,

Girl, you should never try on a dress that is way above your price range. This is a big no no.  Romona is like Vera Wang, it is not a Maggie or Angelo, it is super luxe to touch and wear.

Usually, you can get it as a sample or 2nd hand at  50% of the original tag price.

Ok, from what I see, the original dress is made with silk taffeta.  Therefore, a replica will not have the same texture, shine, feel and weight than the original dress. Silk is lighter, the shine is more subtle, and it is smoother than the synthetic fabric.

it is not hard to replicate, but it will look and feel different.  If you are mentally prepared, you can try to contact Monica Bridal or Babyonline to get a quote.  Monica Bridal has silk fabric upon request (at a premium cost).

                    I agree with Prettypig,

If you are willing to spend a couple hundred dollars and be ok with losing it IF you don't like the way the dress comes out then by all means I say go for it.  You might end up liking it just fine and then you got a fabulous deal!  As she said, the dress won't have quite the same drape or "feel" on your skin.  And odds are the color won't be the same either.  But if you think you would like a dress that has a lot of fabric with the drapey folds and something that looks "inspired by" rather than "just like" then you could end up a very happy bride.

Just don't have unrealistic expectations...honestly, I think the brides that are really unhappy with there chinese knockoffs are the ones that were expecting a replica for pennies on the dollar, that is too good to be true.  You can however get something with a similar vibe for an amazing deal if you are open minded about it! :)

I ordered from MonicaBridal, dress should be here next week!

I have to say, one of the parts of my day that made me smile was the amount of compliments that I received on my dress.....best $130 I ever spent :) The people that I told couldn't believe I was serious when I told them how little it cost!
