Post all "Knock Off Wedding Dress" questions/comments here

Omg I got married almost a year ago and forgot how addicted I was to this thread.  I love seeing your replicas girls!  I was originally getting really swayed to use gianinar because of this thread, but went with a store bought in the end.  I love seeing the dresses come in on this thread :)

Are people using them for their wedding dresses or TTD dresses mostly?

Big congrats to prettypigpig on her big day!

Ladies,    I've been reading this thread for a little while and would like to say a giant thank you to everyone who posted reviews and pictures - it has been incredibly helpful in my decision to go ahead and purchase a dress.    My dilemma is which seller to go with. The original dress that I want is a Maggie Sottero - Bernadette. (here's how it looks: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=J1399)    I found two knock-offs, one at the asapbay store on ebay, one on Landy Bridal:    http://www.landybridal.com/romantic-ivory-halter-strap-lace-beaded-bridal-dress.html   http://cgi.ebay.com/Slinky-Lace-Satin-Mermaid-Wedding-Dress-Bridal-Gown-/360381374944?pt=Wedding_Dresses&hash=item53e86761e0#ht_6092wt_1039   Which store would you recommend I purchase from? Has anyone had this dress made before? The original has quite a lot of beading and I would definitely love to keep it that way but obviously realize that might not happen :)   Any suggestions/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!

well, it is not like I will wear it again...and I don't think my future daughter would want to wear it.  Therefore, it is better to give it to someone who would love and wear it.

I've used Babyonline.  They made 1 of my dresses really quickly and got it to me within 2 weeks but that was because they'd made the initial dress out of the wrong material.  The last of my 4 dresses (indecisive much?) was supposed to be ready on 14th July but got sent on 25th, saying that, it appears that it will arrive later today (27th).  I'd suggest saying to them that you need it by 18th of next month latest and can they do that, that will then give you a couple of weeks wiggle room.  By the way, me and all of my friends are really impressed with the quality of the dresses although you have to be very (and I cannot stress this enough) specific, ie same material, crystals wherever, exact length, and don't be surprised if it arrives a tad large.  Good luck.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
