Playa Fiesta Weddings

Hi there Playa Fiesta brides!

Magalie, Someone emailed me about this thread and want to make sure that I am not the Elizabeth you are trying to reach out to. (I am pretty sure that is not the case since we had corresponded earlier). I do try to respond to emails, usually the same day but within 72 hours at most if traveling, emails can go astray though and if it is me, plese shoot ma another email!

Kate, smile03.gifsmile03.gifsmile03.gif Thank you so much for having such a happy, knock down gorgeous wedding! I am very proud to be able to showcase it as a featured wedding on my website, it brings back great memories!

You will all love Playa Fiesta and I am sure your guests will have the time of their lives! They will never forget the experience!

For any venue that has a more restrictive fee based photographer policy I would suggest just asking directly what fees must be paid by photographer and/or client and once you have all the information out in the open you can weigh your different options.

Mel, I loved seeing Evrim's photographs from you wedding! They are fantastic!

saludos!

Elizabeth

Thanks for the feeback ladies. I sent Blaire another email - lets hope she replies soon! I fogot that they close for the rainy season.

I think I'm going to take your advide Mel and just ask people what they think about coming (well I'll probably have my mom do it). :)

Kate, I don't think we're going to do a site visit either. I actually found the place from your pictures on Elizabeth Medinas' webpage. I loved her work and was looking through her blog and came across your wedding pics. So I looked it up and loved it too!

Are there places to buy groceries (Does walmart sell groceries)? I know a couple of the suites have full kitchens. I guess what do they mean by full kitchen - stove? microwave? oven?

Thanks! :)

Jessica - when are you doing your site visit? where are you staying?

I'm debating the site visit. Kate - you mentioned you didn't do a site visit and everything looks like it turned out perfectly.

My biggest issue at the moment - is figuring out how to ask extended family / friends if they'll be able to come so early. The wedding wouldn't be for another yearish......I guess this is where the save the date's come in handy.
We are going next month for our site visit...mainly as an excuse to getaway. : ) I do site visits for the resort I work at. From my experience, they are helpful, but certainly not necessary. I work with many brides who don't come to the property until they check in for their wedding. We are also having our ceremony in a church, so we are mainly using the site visit to narrow down the church details. There is not much info online, so we would rather secure that part in person. Also, since we will have our deposit in by then, Adam and Lindsay are taking care of our room!! Can't turn that down! Depending on the season and availability, some properties can offer discounts and comp stays for a site visit.

We are booking for next November. We just asked our friends and family if they would be willing to come and told them different dates we were looking at. Like Mel said, some will tell you right away they would come, some will not commit right away. We made an excel sheet with a rough guest list and started putting yes, no, and maybe by each name.

Regarding emails and responses, just be patient. I know it's hard sometimes, especially when we are excited about making progress on wedding planning. Keep in mind they are juggling quite a bit as hotel owners. Not only did they just reopen from the rainy season, but they probably have wedding groups and hotel guests in house, hundreds of emails, phone calls, etc. I always feel bad when brides get frustrated emailing me, but in busy season, I truly am out of the office quite a bit focusing my time and attention on the current events. Blaire, Lindsay and Adam have all been great so far. I know they email me as quick as they can and sometimes scheduling a phone call can be better too. I love this board because its a great place for answers in the meantime. : )

Hope this is helpful!

I have made some progress on our wedding website, but still more to do before I post it. We also sent our custom passport covers from etsy to our wedding party this week to ask them to be a part of our wedding. I took some pics. I'll get around to starting a planning thread or something to share our projects.

Hi Elizabeth!!! I just remembered that I have to email you back:) =

Shreets there is a Walmart and a Costco. It was very reasonable to take a cab- he even waited for us while we shopped. We stuck to snacks but some of the suites do have kitchens.

Jessica- you can check out our website and copy and paste anything you'd like... the other Kate and I did this when we were making ours:)

Hi PF Ladies!!

Sorry for not saying goodbye before we left for PV. I was scrambling not only to finish up last minute wedding details, but also do an extra 2 weeks of work before I left and have my legal day.

We just got back last night and all I can say is that is was the most amazing wedding week. ALL of our guests, (even the ones that complained about the cost), had a blast and couldn't stop raving about PF.

Lindsay, Adam and Blaire were fantastic and put on the most amazing wedding we could imagine. Aldo, Charlie, Ramon, Pina, Pato and the rest of the wait and bar staff gave us the best service and made us and our guests feel like royalty.

I'm going to do a full review and post my planning thread this week. Just trying to catch up on everything after disconnecting from reality for almost 2 weeks. In the mean time, here's a link to the block post our photographer Michelle Turner put up of our wedding:

I'm so excited for you future PF Brides!!! You're going to love it!

Jennie

P.S. Sorry if Adam and Lindsay weren't so good about getting back to you last week by email. I guess they were busy helping us have the wedding of our dreams. :) I know they had another wedding last night but then I think they have a little break before another one so hopefully they will catch up with all of you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
