I figure that they're probably in no hurry to book their reservations right now so I'm trying to focus on the things than I know I will need -- regardless of where the wedding is -- like the mens' attire, etc. Trying to stay positive...
Right! We are looking at it positively... like this means awesome flight prices to Mexico right now :) haha, but really, I think we're okay, fingers crossed!

I'm glad you posted this here! OMG I'm having guests freaking out and it is really annoying me - I thought they would think, "hey, we have 6-7 months, why worry?" - but a couple extended family members are already seriously considering canceling...it is very frustrating!

I have had a few people ask if I am worried about it, and I brush it off that I am not, but it has been on my mind.

I had a call from a close guy friend on the way to work yesterday and he told me he thinks it is a crock and is coming and hopes it drives the airline prices down. I though it was sweet in a boy way.

I just feel so badly for the other girls with May weddings. I seriously am so heartbroken for them I have no words.

Hi girls I don't think I have posted on this thread but if I did then consider this an update. We are getting married at the SLS in Cuba on November 16th 2009. Yup, very excited. So far we have booked and confirmed the date (hate to change the original). We bought FI suit (not shirt or tie yet) and the junior usher and ring bearer's suits and shirts (alteration still needed). I think I have my dress (not convinced yet). We are picking the invitations tomorrow. I gave MOH free reign with the dress choice (i picked the color and told her to find what she liked best). Started with OOT bag purchases (candy), and wedding favors (bubbles, and fans for the ladies), oh and ribbon lots of ribbon! And last but not least I booked my Boudoir session (can't wait, I hate keeping secrets from FI and can't help but grin like a cheshire cat that swallowed the canary every time I look at him). I feel like I have not only a secret but a naughty one at that! I am very excited about it. It is not something he would suspect of me. I am at best very self-conscious (like most)

6 months and 2 weeks to go

8 people booked

OK am I behind in my fittings N&N? I purchased my dress in March but the boutique said for me not to come in for my first fitting until Aug? Currently my gown is way to big (and I'm kinda planning to lose weight hahaha) and I knocked like 6 crystals off of it. Should I be having my first fitting sooner you think?

To the RM/Cancun/Tulum girls..... have you guys picked photogs yet? Who are you thinking about?

If any of you aren't getting married there and you're just experienced BDW'ers I welcome your input too!

I am absolutely in love with Elizabeth Medina (who isn't?!?) I'm just not sure I can afford her (with a $1750 deposit up front!!!)... but it is my wedding day... eeek I'm stuck! smile124.gif

OH NO ...you are not behind... My boutique called me last week to let me know that my dress was in... I was expecting July. I couldn't wait to go try it on, I went yesterday and it fit! They told me I didn't need to do anything to it. SOOOO I brought it home :) Now I have to watch everything I eat for the next 6 months :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
