  1. Jannae - So glad to hear things are changing for the better for you I am trying to figure out this new layout too...it's confusing now but I am sure it will be way better in the long run!
  2. I got the maracas at Genuine Maracas - PartyMart: party supplies They were not personalized when I bought them though. I just got a stamp that said our names and wedding date and stamped the handles of each maraca (if you do this make sure to spray the maraca with a lacure after so the stamp does not smere)
  3. I just wanted to say that the mugs we got were a huge hit! Yes, a few people did forget theirs by the pool and on the beach but I had brought extra's because I knew this would happen. Most people I know still use the mug daily for their morning coffee. greysgirl - Thanks so much for the review/pics, I miss it so much and I want to go back sooo bad!!!
  4. Your photos are amazing and you look stunning!! I love them so much!! I wish I would have done a TTD now!! Maybe one year when I go back and renew I will do it Thanks for sharing your gorgeous photos!!!!
  5. Too funny, I just looked at my ticker and I have actually been married 8 months, not 7... time really does fly. It's been a fabulous 8 months
  6. Nic - You had mentioned you got your fans from Kerry but would you happen to know where she got them? A friend of mine is looking for fans so I told her I would look around. Also, I like the fans without the bows and I love the jewelry you got! Linds - I definately know how you feel, I want to be back at the the RPRM soooo bad!!! It's 7 months today since I was married there (I can't believe time has gone by sooo fast) I can't wait to go back one day! Jannae - congratulations on being a MRS!!!!! I will make you a facebook friend after work to check oput your photos, can't wait to see them!!! So happy you had a great time and I can't wait to read your review!
  7. Nic - We had our ceremony at 1pm and it worked out nicely, we had photos right after the ceremony till about 3pm. Then we just relaxed by the pool (some people took naps and there were children that needed naps too)...me I hung out in my wedding dress by the pool but most people changed and got into the pool. Then we had our cocktail hour from 5-7 and dinner at Chili's at 7pm. It worked out great. We got the 7pm dinner time though because we had over 60 people. Not sure if the rules have changed but you had to have over 60 people to get the early dinner, otherwise dinner wasn't until 8:45pm. I am think having a cocktail hour from 5-8:45 might be a little long. If you are not having your dinner until 8:45pm I would recommend starting your coctails around 6:30-7pm and having appitizers served at it, otherwise people may start to get cranky! So the 1pm isn't bad at all. Also if you are getting your hair done at the salon depending on what you are doing (I got an updo and it took 2 Hours) just remember to factor that in as well. Hopefully this helps.
  8. Jannae - Your dress looks fabulous!! Less the a month to go!!! sooo exciting
  9. Congrats Samira!! Too bad about the hiccups like Jen said but your attitude is great! I can't wait to see your photos and reviews, I am going to add you onto facebook.
  10. samira - Have a great time!! I can't wait to see and hear all about your wedding experience!! You are going to have a fabulous time!!! Oh, I am very excited (and a bit jealous, I wanna go back) for you!!
  11. Oh my goodness, it seems that this is the way life goes...just grip the horns and hold on tight, you will make it through this!! I would be exactly the same as you right now!! You obviosly know that this is the best thing to do for your family but it's just bad timing. Right after everything settles down you will look back and think about how it wasn't as crazy as it seemed. We are here for you at all if you need to vent!!

  14. Congratulations Katie! Thanks so much for the review!! I know I loved this resort and it seems like most everybody does!!
  15. Welcome Staicy, you have picked a great resort, have fun planning!! That review that was written is terrible, some people have nothing better to do then to complain so just let it be (I love you ladies who stand up to her!!!) She should have taken into consideration the ladies getting married there. The resort was pretty full when I was there and I did not have any of those issues, we brought 61 people with us and not 1 of them had a single complaint. The rooms anywhere down south will get damp, leave your ac on, thats all I have to say about that.

The sea and land (lobster and steak) was delicious!!! I always got 2 lobster tails! I like my steak med-rare and it was cooked perfectly every time!! The baked Alaska desert is also delicious here and I am not a desert person. It is ice cream covered in meringue. The staff will light it on fire too, it’s really cool. Miguel was our server every time and he was fabulous!!! Krystal – Fusion The pumpkin soup was amazing!!! We had the beef and the salmon here and both were excellent. Agave – Mexican I loved the chicken fajitas but the appetizer is a buffet so careful because most of the time I was to full for my main course!! Botafogo – Brazilian I was not a big fan of this restaurant, I think the meat could have been cooked better. The turkey was dry and all the meat also needed spices. Yashima – Japanese I had the salmon, it was alright. Doug loved the sushi tray!! I am not a big sushi fan. The main buffet was also very delicious!!! The ribs were amazing. My fav. thing at breakfast is the omelet station..yummy. We also made BLT’s for breakfast which were really yummy. The guacamole and Pico de galo were so fresh and so delicious!!! The pizza and pasta at the lunch buffet by the pool was good too. Oh and the pasta station in the main buffet…awesome!!!! I am getting hungry!! Room service was excellent, we had pretty much everything on the room service menu, my fav was the chicken toastadas. Late at night when you are hungry the sports bar has awesome sandwiches, which Doug had pretty much every night! We never made the reservations ourselves but I do know there is a time frame in the day when you have to go and make them. People just always made them and invited us along. On the night we were not invited we would just go down to the main buffet and either eat just the 2 of us or we would see people in our group and sit with them. We had a great mix! Hope this helps!
  17. Katie - Wow you have a lot of people going!! You are going to have so much fun!! Are you going for 1 week or 2? Kimmy - Only 1 month to go, crazy how time goes by so fast!!
  18. Welcome back Alexis!!! I can't wait to see your photos!!! Katie - For our reception they did not "let" us stay later, we just paid the DJ and wait staff another $100 and they stayed longer for us. We were at Chili's though, I am not sure how it would work at Botofogo as it is right in the main hotel.
  19. Sounds amazing, thanks for the review!! I can't wait to see your pictures!! This just might be the next Riu I go to...
  20. Kimmy G I walked down the ailse to Canon in D and after the ceremony Better Together by Jack Johnson was playing. Ael has a good selection of songs to pick from if you do not want to bring your own music. As for Food, here's my thoughts... Sammysgirl - When Ael contacts you she will give you a link to make spa reservations.
  21. shellk - love your photos, you look fabulous!! Congrats on being a MRS now and I can't wait to read your review and see more photos!!
  22. Ladytrunk - Wow, what a crazy story about your dress, that's strange that povonais has decided to change the way they size their dresses. Anyway, it is deffinate motivation to get into the dress!! and lots of times when people lose weight it comes off the chest to start! As for the music you can bring your own music on cd for the ceremony or choose from the music they have, we used the music they had and the 2 songs we picked were canon in d and better together. Frenchie - I was definately going through the same delimma's you are with the RPRM and having to have certain number of guests to do certain things. I still don't like the way they have it setup but in the end we had 61 people and we got great times and our dinner at chilis, I would have been very nhappy if things did not work out though. You will have no problem finding a resort to accomodate you. I think on of the best things about the RPRM is they can accomodate larger groups because many places won't.
