Friends Engagement

Recommended Posts

my friend and her boyfriend just got engaged, I am very happy for her. But when she told me she said they were going to wait for Jamaica, during the week of our wedding, i told her I would of been upset about it, now she is mad at me for it.

Is it wrong for me saying that and feeling this way?

What do you think?

personally i would be upset and i dont think its right of them to use your wedding week as the week they get married, on the same vacation everyone else is on.

there have been lots of discussions about this subject, and i've always said that they wouldnt be on the vacation with you if it werent for your wedding, so they should wait and do it on their own week, or at least not on YOUR wedding vacation. all the work and stress over picking a place and setting things up, and they are riding your coattails. i dont think its cool at all sad.gif

Sorry...I'm a little confused ~ what does she mean when she says "she's gonna wait until Jamaica?" Wait for Jamaica, for what -- to get married, announce her engagement?

** If she's trying to get married the same time as you, then I think its totally disrespectful. That is time that you and your FI have chosen to focus on the celebration of your union and if that what she intends then you have EVERY right to be pissed!

it may have been unnecessary to say so, but don't worry about it too much - she'll get over it...she'll probably realize soon as a bride-to-be she wouldn't want anyone getting engaged at HER wedding either :)

me too, I'm confused. Wait to get engaged in Jamaica, or they want to get married in Jamaica?

If it's the latter.. that's no good.

So you're saying your friend is upset that she didn't get engaged in Jamaica, because her bf popped the question early?

Shouldn't she be happy that she got engaged - period? Regardless of when or where.

Maybe you can tell her she'll notice all the wedding details more closely at your DW, I know I've noticed all the little things at other people's weddings once I got engaged.

    • What color is your wedding? You can go with warm autumn-inspired colors such as burnt oranges, dark reds, burgundy, bright yellows, like fall foliage   https://printsbery.com/invitations/wedding/burgundy   What planning have you guys done?
    • We booked our wedding for April 2021 but the venue let us know at this time they are still implementing Covid measures so we should not have more than 50 guests, etc. We also made sure the contract had an "out" clause that would let us get a refund should the pandemic blow up again, or have the ability to reschedule without penalty.
    • I am having my wedding scheduled in November 2020. I am too much worried about how all the things will be managed in this pandemic situation. About everything like the guest list, preparations, my attire and all. The only thing I am relaxed is about finances. In Feb only me and my fiancé applied for the wedding loans. We have applied early because both of us are having bad credit we had a doubt that it will be approved or not. But our wedding loans with bad credit were timely approved and we have planned accordingly but now this pandemic has spoiled all our preparations. We are trying to be positive and trying to celebrate our new beginnings.
