I've been in touch with Floral Fantasies, they said they are welcomed onto the property to set up but they believe the Bride pays the vendor fee.  I have an email to Nicole to find out.  Either way, I sent an e-mail to TaiFlora August 29 and made 2 phone calls and still have not heard anything.  Floral Fantasies is quick to respond, so the vendor fee is well worth it to me!

Wow, that's awful! I can't believe you've gone without a response for that long! Even if they're busy with 2012 weddings, they should at least let you know they'll get back to you soon.

I'm thinking it will be Floral Fantasies for me too - I'd pay the travel and vendor fees twice over rather than deal with hassles and frustration any longer.

The travel fee is $30 from Negril to the Suites, and even if I have to pay $200 for vendors, their prices are MUCH better than TaiFlora.  I refuse to wait 2 months for a reply when I'm spending over $3,000 at your business (for freaking flowers!!).  I think its rude and unprofessional.  If they are so busy, they should not be monopolizing the Iberostar resorts.

On a better note, Chantal is doing a great job so far at Floral Fantasies!!!  As long as my flowers don't arrive dead I don't see having a problem with them at all!  Everything I've sent her, she's priced and sent pictures of examples within hours.

Hi Ladies,

As I've been reading the post from the upcoming brides and all the stress, I wanted to tell you about my outside WC. At first I couldn't understand hiring an outside WC especially with my background being events but the more I thought about it the more it makes sense.I wanna enjoy my wedding!  My WC is Sadeki from Chic Events Wedding. Because she deals so much with Iberostar she has them on her BBM. She can get answers right away and she helps with the communication.

Her price is reasonable so I thought I'd put it out there for you guys.

Let me know what you find out - about the vendor fee.  I have given up on sending Nicole emails.  I have also emailed FF, gotten quick responses and am overall happy with their pricing.  Obviously I can't do much until I know how many reception tables we will be having, etc.  Also, Heather.. they have white plantation chairs for $5/chair.  Not sure if I posted that here or somewhere else or not but I think that look is much more beachy than chivalri chairs and will probably go that route.

I haven't tried calling Nicole, but I may have to soon...  I need some things finalized for our invites. I know they are busy but a month wait for an email response is a little much.

I did see they have plantation chairs!! I asked about chiavari chairs, and she sent me pictures of those.  I agree, they are very cute for the beach!!!  I have almost everything finalized with her in less than a week.  I'm shocked, but very happy!  I just want to cross it off my list!  It will obviously depend on the amount of tables as well but at least I have pricing!  And they don't respond to everything by saying, "these prices may change"

Side note....I also picked out my wedding band today!!! So excited, I can't wait to wear the bling!!!

Like the WC, I can't believe the complete lack of communication I'm still experiencing even though I'm about 6 weeks away from my wedding!

When do they finally start paying attention?! Argh!  :(

I've also tried contacting Tai Flora with zero response in the last 6 weeks.

Does anyone know if we have to use real rose petals for our ceremony aisle?  I wanted the look of a tonne of rose petals to create my aisle runner.  They are so expensive whereas you can order fake ones for so cheap.  And I would still have my flower girl use real flowers.  I'm assuming the hotel does not want fake flowers scattered on their beach though (but of course I have not heard back from them).

Also, does anyone know the dimensions of the huppa?  I want to rent crystals to hang along the back but need to know how many I need.  I received a price from Tai Flora for $325 which I find crazy so I'm going to look online for rental instead.

I'm curious also about the petals as I hear they blow away too easily and real ones are heavier. Here's the huppa dimensions 234 cm high 198 cm wide/depth I've also been sourcing them...I found rolls on eBay for $20 for 6 feet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
